Great location. Rooms back from beach with beautiful gardens and protection from strong wind. There's a lovely seated area that looked out over the water and protected from most of the wind. Food was lovely.

The resort is so gorgeous, very lush and well maintained. Food was great across all restaurants on site. Staff are all wonderful, we felt welcome from the second they met us at the airport till the second they dropped us back there. Unlike some other five star resorts, here everyone greets you with a smile and it always felt so genuine. Employees radiated happiness at all times which created such a warm feeling being there. Special thanks to Adrijan Rajkovic who went above and beyond to make our stay special and memorable! Everything went so smooth and we feel so happy, recharged and already thinking of a possibility to come back! It’s was truly a 5 star stay with SO much personalization (I mean we had all the help in our native language which is pretty fascinating to receive anywhere, let alone an island in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific). For anyone not sure which resort to choose on Bora Bora, choose Conrad - you’ll be amazed how far five star can go!

Super friendly and helpful staff. They gave as a warm welcome and complimentary glass of juice on arrival. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The A/C was great. The private beach was beautiful and had great snorkelling. The two onsite restaraunts were convenient and the Saturday night show was a treat. The were plenty of breakfast options each morning. There are water filters dotted all around the resort to get drinking water - this saves so much plastic from having to buy bottled water - a fantastic move on the hotel's part. Every day there is happy hour from 5:30-6:30. Half price coctails - all the ones I tried were delicious.

The location was a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Matira beach. The kitchen had plenty of equipment and massive amounts of authenticate decor. Beds we’re comfortable and AC in the bedrooms worked great.

Be aware.

Be aware. There is constant jet-ski noise right outside your bungalow. Strong current and no fish. Don't bother trying to swim off the bungalow. Overhead air traffic all day. Long walk to the restaurants and long wait for transportation. Staff very nice, but a poorly managed resort. Moorea is much better for snorkelling and general amenities.

The real Bora Bora “dream experience” can only be done if...

The real Bora Bora “dream experience” can only be done if you stay in a motus in front of the island in the lagoon - however, there are only very expensive/luxury resorts which are out of most travelers’ possibilities. The only beach on the island as such is Matira - beautiful but rather small (as half of it is private - occupied by other resorts). So if you go to Bora Bora on a normal and not on a luxury travel budget, the experience you will get is likely disappointing. If you still want to go, stay only 2 days and have a full day lagoon tour (expensive, but it’s the only way to get a glimpse of the Bora Bora experience) and another day you go to Matira and rent a bike or a car or a scooter and do the island tour (but there is not much to see besides a couple of WW2 site, a few sacred Banians and a badly conserved turtle petroglyphs - if not too rainy you may try a hike to the island peak but you need to ask for permission and pay a fee). Please also note that if you are traveling in the wet season, you can really have no stop pouring rain all day for several days.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend Bora Bora.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend Bora Bora. There are other destinations that are far more affordable and offer much more beautiful beaches. The people are friendly, but there is only one beach open to the public. Most of the others belong to resorts and aren’t accessible unless you’re a guest. Travelling all that way just to have access to one public beach doesn’t feel worth it. Instead, consider destinations like Rarotonga, Vanuatu, or New Caledonia — you’ll be much better rewarded for your money and experience.
