As a frequent visitor to Kalisz I used to stay either in "Komoda" or in "Europa", but now I have a new favourite, the B&B Hotel. This newly opened hotel is just steps away from the main square (Rynek Glowny) and right by the lovely green 'planty', perfect for a morning stroll. My room still smelled of freshness; it was on the top floor in the attic with a lovely and romantic view of the roofs of Kalisz. The room was large and so were the bed and the washroom. The tea pot was also in the room while water can be brought in a carafe from the water dispenser in the lobby. The staff (all young people) was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was quite substantial.

I like everything from initial communication till automatic gates when leaving the hotel. This hotel is in 15 minutes walking distance from old city central square, restaurant in the hotel is great for a dinner. Breakfast was also reach and tasty. And the most impressive moment is hand-written message with welcoming words and notification about bottle of wine as a gift. The room was beautiful and clean with all required facilities. It's a high level of hospitality, so I'm thinking about new reason for travalling to Poznan just to have such great experience one more time.

I loved the vintage style of the hotel which was so well-kept, well-preserved, and maintained. It felt like you're walking in some past century for some items, yet there were many modernized things too, it was an interesting mix.

It's a fascinating city with a fascinating history. How fascinating? Well, while in the Enigma machine museum on my last day, I became so engrossed in the exhibits and displays that I nearly missed my flight! Would I go back to Poznan again? Put it this, I'd definitely consider it.

Besides the obvious attractions like 1000 y.o. Drzwi Gnieznienskie and History Museum, the trail of fun rabbit monuments all around the Old Town and lakes, there are some mor gems here to justify 2-3 day stay. We enjoyed open summer pools in the city with kids and an evening in a local brewery - both easily discoverable on google maps. Nearby (20 min drive or 15 train ride plus 1h walk) there's an opportunity for a whole day excursion to Ostrow Lednicki. It's an island reachable by short ferry ride where a Gród (a medieval Slavonic fortified settlement) remains can be found an a trail through different historic exhibits. It can take you anywhere form an hour to half day depending on your patience, walking tempo and interests. Theres also a great karczma (traditional restaurant) need by and a couple of small beaches to enjoy the lake.

People in Ostrow are extremely nice and helpful. Just lovely - whenever we went, we met nice, kind and helpful people with smiles on their faces. The city is pretty and clean. We went to attend Temple of Silence festival in Forum Synagoga, which is a beautiful building. There is plenty of places to eat and drinks, loads of boutiques and jewellery places. Really lovely town.

When We arrived on December 24th 2025 @ 4:00pm. there was no one to greet us, doors were shut and no one inside to open it all lights were out, without any sign of life. I was confused and disgusted that no one was there to accommodate us. I was ready to look for another hotel or place to spend the night after standing there for 40-+ minutes in cold knocking on the door and ringing the bell with no response. As i was getting ready to leave and find another place to stay stranger walked his dog and I asked him if there is anyone here to receive us and he told me not today this is a Christmas Eve, and everyone is at home celebrating Christmas. He proceeded to tell me to go to back door and let myself in and just get a room keys are hanging on the wall. As we walked in cold and discussed yes there was several keys hanging on the wall behind reception desk so I picked one and went upstairs to check the room out and when i opened door there was 6 beds and I didn't think it was the one I rented than I went downstairs and got rest of the keys from the board and started opening rest of the rooms finally after 3rd try there was room with two beds and that was the one we moved in to. For rest of the stay no one ever showed up to greet us or check we were on our own. Last day as we were leaving now there was man behind counter not speaking any English so I couldn't ask him what happened and we just left. That is not the way to run business when already everything was paid for in advance looked like they cared less after. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever. Thank You. Let me preface my review by saying that I'm American and I was in Piła for business. I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to explore. Overall, I thought Piła was very nice. It was pretty clean and very pretty. There's a river that runs through town and a nice trail that follows along side it. Piła is not touristy, but there are still a fair bit of people who speak English. There was only one little Kebab shop we went to where the employee spoke minimal English, but everywhere else the employees were proficient. Most places were closed on Sunday, which was unexpected. Prepare for that.

Must have to visit - Catherdal! And for sure to climb at the top for the amazing view. Attn- no elevator and the stairs are steep. Best place to park is by the Carhedral Parking. You’ll get to the Cathedral from there through the nicest restaurant in the park. Few steps away- huge lake. Highly recommended!
