"Biggest commercial port in Romania, nice city with a long history going back to Roman times. Ovid, the Roman poet is buried here when it was called Tomis. The historic center is very nice with lots of old buildings and restaurants and the seashore is a relaxing place to stroll through with many restaurants and activities for all ages. There is a big aqua center, a cable car over the promenade and Ovid's island with a restaurant, reachable with a ferry. The modern art museum and history museum are worth a visit. The hop-on hopp off bus (2€/day) gives the visitor and insight among others, into the commercial port which is rather impressive. Recommended."

"Unfortunately, this location does not look anything about Costinesti from my time 2000-2002. Costinesti was about youth/students - now is only for "manele", cheep food and no place for beach. I do not recommend this location for families , or for people 40+ years. You will not like so many people "that kind" - a lot of disrespect....but, this is life and this is the new generation. In my case, if it wasn't for Nibiru, I would NEVER come to Costinesti."

The room we stayed in had a huge balcony and bathroom. It was overall very comfortable, the breakfast was great, the walk to the beach was 10 minutes away. The location is great, there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

I liked everything, ON MY TASTE!!! It's a quiet place, not crowded, close to the beach, basically u have everything close. If u like a 5 star hotel to have people that serving you then it's not for you. But if u like to manage things by yourself and you enjoy tranquility and quiet places, without a lot of people then it's the perfect place. The pool is awesome also, trees, sea, sea sand, places near where u can just go by walk and eat.

We had a really great stay and felt it was definitely worth the money. The room was small, but it had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy, and we slept really well. Breakfast was served in a big restaurant with a lovely conservatory, which was probably our favourite part. There were plenty of options to choose from, and everything tasted great.

Mamaia is such a lovely beach side place, plenty places to...

Mamaia is such a lovely beach side place, plenty places to eat, have fun and make memories! There is like a fun fair open every evening in the top of the strip, with loads of things to do, nearby there is aqua magic water park, so much fun to be had. A little further down the road you can go to Constanta old town, about 30mins drive and there is plenty to see and do, especially at the harbour and toward the Casino! City park Mall is 5-10 mins from mamaia and has some amazing shops inside. Also, if you don’t mind driving, Varna in Bulgaria is only 2.5hr drive away, well worth a day trip.

If like us first time to go this area...it is a bit hard to...

If like us first time to go this area...it is a bit hard to ask people around the area they will teach you wrong way and wrong public transport....but luckily we manage to find few people going around the same area.also if you search on move it or Google maps it will not be helpful either....you can ride the bus Constanța/Năvodari this is the only bus going there.☺️

A good location for families with kids - plenty of...

A good location for families with kids - plenty of accessible restaurants, cantinas, grocery shops. There is only one ramp access point to the beach (South, near Belona). All the others are stairs - some in a very rough shape. You will have a hard time getting to the beach with a stroller or in a wheelchair. And going up and down the stairs every day will soon make you wish you got a hotel nearer to the beach. In the places where the beach has been extended (the entire beach with the exception of the North side, near Delfinul/Steaua de Mare), the sand is mixed with broken sea shells, not fun to walk on, hard to play with. The best thing about Eforie is the sea - it is usually very clear, mild waves, smooth sand with no rocks, very slow descent that allows even young kids to stand up in the water for up to five-10 metres from the beach line. Sure, sometimes there may be algae, medusas or small crabs after a storm, but most of the time this is where you'll find the best water on the Romanian sea side. In terms of restaurants, we always favored Mirage and Terasa cu Ancore, in the North; in 10+ years of going with small kids, these were the places where we never had issues with bad food.

Constanța is a total underrated gem—easily worth a week or more. There is a great blend of ancient history and modern energy, from the charming old town and bustling port to the lively summer beach vibe, vibrant parks, and solid local cafe/bar scene. We loved seeing the newly renovated Cazino open, enjoyed the great local restaurant scene, and found the beaches approachable and easy to access. Transport is seamless: grab the 24Pay app ahead of time or pick up a 7-day pass (13 rides breaks even) to get around easily. Good energy all around, solid malls, and very welcoming locals—the border control officer even shared a warm moment, lightheartedly dubbing the city "Little Odesa" given the deep solidarity with Ukrainians finding safe haven here. We were a bit bummed that the National History and Archaeology Museum was closed for renovations during our visit, but seeing the newly reopened Cazino more than made up for it. Truly very little to complain about—a fantastic summer city break!

Hotel was very ok, but Neptun was not so clean, amenities were poor, it is a pitty because with some minor investments in green spaces, clean services, parking around beach, beach clean up could, could have a very beautiful and attractive destination, as it was years ago.

Love Vama Veche, for me it is the best place on the Romanian...

Love Vama Veche, for me it is the best place on the Romanian coast line. Some of the bars play the best music you will hear at the beach and it has a great free spirit about the place that you simply do not find at the other coastal resorts. If You cant find accommodation here then 2 Mai is a close second and worth a visit. The beach has also so far, escaped the awful beach extension program that has been taking place across Romania's beaches. The extended beaches are awful and lie walking on broken glass. Vama Veche still has sand :)

The resort is dirty, at least the road to the beach.

The resort is dirty, at least the road to the beach. The beach terraces are the worst I've seen—dirty, with questionable service quality. The beach is only partially developed. There are no cafes. The restaurants remain unchanged, with the same communist-era vibe from 30 years ago, making you feel like you've stepped back in time. The only thing that has changed is the blaring manele music everywhere.

the resort has improved in the past years but it still has...

the resort has improved in the past years but it still has quite a lot to go until it reaches its full potential. there's pretty much enough to do regardless if you're with your family, friends or partner - a 2-3 day stay is just right, in my point of view. there are cars parked on every single available plot of land. it can be quite annoying, and I think that a large parking place should be set up on the outskirts of the resorts - a 5 minutes walk wouldn't kill anyone.

Fabulous town with lots of potential now with Nirbiru open. Very interested to see development over the next couple of years, hopefully it would became a European-wide holiday destination! public transport would also need to be looked at.
