GWe stayed in a room with bunk beds. The room was spacious, much larger than it looked in the photos. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide and tasty selection. There is paid parking with easy access to the hotel, and several restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel also has a spa with a nice jacuzzi and a dry sauna. You need to reserve a time slot, and it is free of charge.reat service,

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times before. Sofia the hotel manager, always tries to make our stay at the hotel is as good as it can possibly be. When Sofia finds out that we are coming she saves the biggest room with the best view for us. The breakfast is served in a first class restaurant (the best restaurant in Malmkoping). It is one of the best breakfasts we have had in Sweden. The hotel is located in a very quiet and secluded location which helps facilitate a good nights sleep. We will return again next year.

Nykoping (pronounced New-shopping) is clearly not on the...

Nykoping (pronounced New-shopping) is clearly not on the tourist trail. It is a pretty town, with old parts and new areas. So it's fairly quiet and chilled as a place. The Sormlands Museum was a good place to go as was Stendorren Nature Reserve, definitely climb the tower for the view and go pond/sea dipping. Also the mini golf on the harbour. There were plenty of shops and restaurants there. Shopping at Hemkop or Willys was all good for the essentials for a day out. Also had a hot buffet section until 6pm. Which was great for lunch. We ate at a local Taco Bar, which was fine, the portions were a little small for teenage boys. Also at Max's burger place, which was excellent if a little more expensive than McDonalds. We also were informed by the car rental place that we should try a place called 29, a pizza take away, it charged 29 kronor for a good sized Margherita, about £2.50. It was freshly cooked and there were loads of other options all at different prices. Not the healthiest selection of dinners but it certainly didn't break the bank. The more traditional Swedish restaurants were that bit more. Prices in bars for drinks are the same as London. We drove around but we travelled from Gothenburg to Stockholm by train which was very straight forward (took 3.5 hours) but the standard of travel is equivalent to first class in the UK. Everyone talks to each other whether you know each other or not. We spent a day in Gothenburg which was lovely, 3 days in Nykoping, a day in Stockholm and a day in Orebro. Definitely visit Orebro if you have time, Stockholm was unsurprisingly very touristy. Make sure you take trousers during the summer months, I wore shorts the first night we were there and got bitten on my legs by the mosquitos. Lesson learnt. Trousers for the rest of the holiday and not problems.

Trosa is, without question, the most beautiful town I have...

Trosa is, without question, the most beautiful town I have visited during my 11 years of living in Sweden. Every corner felt carefully tended, with gorgeous gardens, colorful flowers, charming wooden houses and picturesque streets along the river. The whole town was exceptionally clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, yet it still felt warm and welcoming rather than overly polished. Walking through Trosa felt like stepping into a postcard. It is the perfect place to slow down, wander without a plan, and simply enjoy the beauty around you. Quiet, romantic, and full of character. Trosa completely stole my heart. An unforgettable little Swedish gem that I cannot recommend highly enough!

The castle was a fun place to visit, there is the stuffed lion which is rather odd looking (There is a funny back story on the lion). The lion was stuffed by a man many 100s of years ago who had never seen a living lion so he got some things rather wrong. The town has importance in the history of Sweden, at the castle you can see many of the oil paintings which are part of the national art collection of Sweden. Marifred has a proper holiday feel for a family, there is an ice cream parlour. It has a nostalgia railway line which goes to another tourist attraction. It has plenty of good places to go for lunch or an evening meal.

The area around the hotell Kungsbacken was very dark at night. Not many lights outside. Daytime it was cusy and nice. Nice culture shoops from middleeast. The food at both restaurants we visited was good price and much food..

Strangnas is an average size town with many amenities.

Strangnas is an average size town with many amenities. The harbour area is very picturesque in every season, the windmill, harbour and church are both beautiful landmarks. If you are self-catering there are a few supermarkets in the town centre. Stockholm is no more than an hour on the train and locally there are restaurants, a cinema and opportunity to picnic or take a hike in nearby woods.

This was our first visit to the beautiful little town of Trosa. It has a small river running through it that makes it even more special. Lovely restaurants and cafes - we only spent one night here and would definitely visit again.

We traveled to Nyköping to visit friends over the holidays.

We traveled to Nyköping to visit friends over the holidays. We did not expect to experience a lovely town center (which might need a few more trees, but it was winter, so hard to tell). We walked quite a bit and enjoyed hills, river walkways, and some reasonably good restaurants. Ät ('eat' in Swedish) Restaurant was open and offered some good pizza, fish and chips, wraps and more substantial meals for prices slightly above average. Ambiance and service there were very good.

The surroundings are truly wonderful.

The surroundings are truly wonderful. Lots of water in the center which gives nice views and a picturesque feeling. But the cost of eating out is somewhat expensive. There are places to eat if you're on a budget, but you have to search for them.
