The location is perfect, within walking distance from Jiaoxi bus station. It is clean and spacious with a lovely bathtub. The breakfast was delightful! I loved the noodle soup 米粉湯. There are many cafes around the hotel. It is a great place to relax.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great stay. The room was clean, spacious, and modern. We loved our private hotspring with views overlooking the town. We didn’t hear much noise from trains or other people. The staff were super friendly and always had a smile when greeting us. The buffet breakfast was fabulous. They offer more variety on the weekends vs weekdays but still great breakfast choices. The hotel is close to the night market but walking there is not easy due to the very narrow streets in Luodong. Overall would definitely stay here again if we return to Luodong!

Kilin hotel is conveniently located in Jiaoxi, where there were multiple food options and convenience stalls nearby. The breakfast spread offered was also amazing, more than sufficient to start the day well. The provision of yakult was also very lovely to help woth digestion. All staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. We had to request for a change in bedsheets due to a little accident, and it was quickly addressed by the housekeeping team. The spa facilities at Kilin Hotel were also very enjoyable with two options available. Level 3 obe is more suitable for family with young children while the rooftop one offers great views. Overall, an enjoyable stay with Kilon Hotel

Loved the bathtub with fresh hot spring water. Great service and room was wonderfully clean and well designed. The indoor playground was well designed and sufficiently spacious for toddlers. Great food options around the hotel. It’s a great base for families who don’t want to stay in the hotel all day (if you do- go to Silks place).

I like the room because they have the spa bath, it's very spacious. I like that the hotel offers free drinks when we checked in, and later at night there's Alco night. It's a very relaxing trip for us. Also, they offer free use of chiropractic & soft pillows where you can left it at the room once you checked out.

Japanese theme park had lots of activities to entertain kids. Entrance is free and there are a few complimentary activities we can do. For the rest, we have to pay for it. The onsen is good with about 4 pools (3 hot and 1 cold) and a rest area within.

Good location.

Good location. Thought I would give the Vasty a go this time as I have stayed at other hotels in Jiaoxi. Way over priced IMO. Not good value for your money. Average breakfast and NO WASHCLOTHES in the rooms. Your money is better spent elsewhere IMO.

Great place for leisure and relaxation. The place has a laid back and relaxing atmosphere. People are accommodating and friendly. There are many things and sites to enjoy. I love the street foods, hot spring and the calm and peaceful ambience.

A quiet, lay back, slow countryside with not that much food but decent. Love the fresh air, river and the hospitality of the old street offer, there's also nightmarket every Saturday to give a bit of kick.

It is a quiet town and a walkable downtown area.

It is a quiet town and a walkable downtown area. The beach is nearby and a surfing mecca. Most restaurants close at 6 or 7pm and by 9pm the town is completely shutdown except 7 Eleven. Great place if you like the quiet town or just for surfing. If you prefer a vibrant nightlife or night market, JiaoXi or Luodong is better choice.

Every morning we wandered along the paved roads of Sanxing...

Every morning we wandered along the paved roads of Sanxing flanked by farms and occasional B&Bs —scenic, peaceful, and almost comically quiet. I joked that we saw only one car every ten minutes. Naturally, we decided to put that theory to the test during our hour-long stroll… and to our surprise, the data backed me up. There are numerous scenic trails nearby. We were fortunate to witness the annual marathon. Having been to 17 marathons in the US, we were very impressed by the friendly vibes.

Interesting town. Not geared up for western tourism much. Sidewalks patchy so it's really for people who can walk well. Good restaurants but a bit of mandarin helps in many of them. Matcha mountain is a great hike, we walked from the hotel in town so a round trip was the guts of a day and 30,000 steps but you can get a bus or grab to the start point. The train to town from Jiufen is good and has great views. All on the same easy card as the Taipei metro. Only place to change cash is the bank which closes on Christmas and weekends. The main hot spring park is great, it's separated and naked (probably optional but everyone was naked), the water was fantastic, clear and not sulphurous, and it was quite cheap. There are some shrimp fishing and foot baths with fish if you like that. Beer is very hard to find if you don't want to drink in your room. We went to a volcano chicken place on Xmas day which was fantastic, but we accidentally drank 5 bottles of Taiwan 18 days each and my wife had a horrible hangover. Weather misty and drizzly in December but 15-22 C. Merry Xmas!

Always have a fondness for Ilan, Luodong is definitely a beautiful county for people to visit and stay for like 3~4 days. You'll love it if you also like the country life but not far away from the convenient city life.

Yilan city is a suburban area.

Yilan city is a suburban area. If you like to experience the countryside but not that far in the city, Yilan is very recommended. There are so much activities to be done and a lot of off the beaten paths are worth the visit.

I went there because of the fireworks and it is spectacular. There were a lot of stalls selling snacks, food, and craft works and there were beautiful lights along the river so while waiting for the fireworks, you can spend the time with a leisure and yummy walk.
