Very friendly and welcoming staff, clean rooms, and a wonderful atmosphere! I booked a room for my parents, and because they had to leave at 7:00 a.m., they couldn’t make it to breakfast. The hotel kindly prepared lunch boxes for them to take on the road, which was such a thoughtful gesture. This place truly cares about its guests. Highly recommended!

First of all, the general vibe of the hotel was absolutely amazing, with the general organization of the hotel being perfect for a relaxing stay, where you don't think about anything except the relaxation. The amenities - especially chany (traditional regional hot tubs) and banya (stream-side spa with steam you can adjust yourself) - were amazing, just as the massage. The additional cost for them was 100% worth the price. Moreover, the hotel's restaurant is great and is open pretty much continuous. Amazing tasty local food, great selection of wines and drinks, and a good choice of dishes for vegetarians. The hotel's location is a perfect spot for several days worth of hikes in the neighbouring mountains.

Food is very good, breakfast is wonderful. The territory is beautiful. Fishing is fun, especially for children. Indoor swimming pool is nice but could be a little warmer. Staff was very helpful. We've stayed here before and we'll go back again.

I enjoyed the Ethnographic museum next to the castle very much. The castle itself has various museums, often with no common theme. The churches in the city--especially the Greek Catholic cathedral, Holy Savior and Holy Protection Orthodox cathedrals--were stunning. There is a bus system, but the routes and plans are all in Ukrainian. The old town suggests past glory, with some interesting building styles. Having a car is useful, as there are lots of interesting things to see in the countryside. The first thing to do in the city is to go to the tourist information center and get a map.

Let's be honest - the main advantage of Solotvyno is that it is open at a time when resorts on the Black Sea are not. The only attractive things in the town are salt springs and amateur salt rooms. You may also want to visit Synevyr National Park, which is about three hours drive away. The town is overcrowded with vacationers, and prices in hotels are twice higher than they would be in a normal situation for this reason. Public transport seems to be completely non-existent, so you need either your own car or to call a taxi, which can take an unpredictable amount of time and costs from 150 hryvnia and up. Tickets for trains departing in three weeks were sold out in a day. And getting to Solotvyno from Kyiv by car takes at least eleven hours. Garbage is everywhere in the salt lake area. The streets in that area turned into a continuous market. Wine/beer/liquors are sold everywhere, so several recreation camps built of wood have already had fires this summer. The quality of food in restaurants is far below average. Whatever you hear about Transcarpathian cuisine, this does not apply to Solotvyno. I recommend the "Family" pizzeria if cuisine is a priority and "Edelweiss" if you need a quick bite. Avoid "Status" at all costs! From the good - in the town, there are several recently erected and well-maintained hotels connected to their own salt springs. But read reviews very carefully and take nothing for granted.

I was in Mukachevo only one night. I liked Palanok Castle, it's worth a visit. There is a nice square, a center and an orthodox church. It is also nice around the river and in the amusement park by the river. I was pleasantly surprised by how good Pilsner beer they have in the Jakir restaurant :)

The town looks a bit grim, there is a Soviet feel about the main street. Nice clean, new shops on main Street. Alma grocery store, bakeries, old wooden Orthodox churches. It's location not too far from Hoverla, highest point in Ukraine Carpathians and Petros, an arduous long yet rewarding mountain top at 2030M make it a convenient place for a few overnights.

Uzh is just a border town.

Uzh is just a border town. Better than many border towns but still not a whole lot going on. The Old Town, is quite pleasant. Most importantly, it is safe there. No homeless, no beggars, no thieves, unlike what you find in many western cities today. It's still just a town you go to, to get to somewhere else.

It's a wonderful city in one if the most picturesque parts of Ukraine. Peaceful atmosphere, magnificent Palanok Castle, delicious cuisine and blooming sakura trees make Mukachevo a perfect tourist destination. Bondarenko cafe, restaurant "Порядний Ґазда" and B@B Espresso Bar are must-visit.

Polyana is basically a bus stop on a busy highway framed by run-of-the-mill hotels. It appears to have no real centre. Not much culture, no historical sights worth visiting. There is little to do other than walking in a forest and drink mineral water. The better restaurants (check TRIPADVIDOR) are outside of Polyana. Fortunately I had a car to visit more interesting surrounding places like Uzhhorod (castle) and others.

Yasinya is a charming village with breathtaking mountain views and fresh air that instantly makes you feel relaxed. It’s a great base for exploring the Carpathians, whether you’re here for hiking in summer or skiing in winter. Locals are friendly and welcoming, and you can find authentic Ukrainian charm in its streets and cafes. One absolute must-visit is Pub-4.5.0 — a great choice of craft beer and an unforgettable atmosphere that perfectly completes the mountain experience. The atmosphere in Yasinya is peaceful, but everything you need—shops, restaurants, and transport—is close at hand. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and wants a real Carpathian experience.
