Good communication. Easy access. Location was relatively close to the entry to Big Bend and local restaurants. Bed was comfortable. Outside seating was great to sit out on and relax after a long day of hiking.

Tam was GREAT! She provided thorough instructions for arrival, the cabin was clean and ready to go. The location is remote. I would not have been able to find it after dark, even with the meticulous directions . 100% we will stay with them again!

Modern, well-appointed and super-comfortable little cabin. Everything is very thoughtfully designed and top notch, down to the selection of books and housewares. We had a fantastic time even though it was unusual weather - overcast and cool. The hosts were great to work with and clearly like having guests. We ended up high-fiving each other for having found this gem so close to town and the National Park.

The Desert Pearl is amazing! Booked this for a couples retreat at Big Bend, my wife thought it was adorable and had all the necessaties for your stay. We absolutely loved the hot shower, excellent after a long day of hiking! Great place to disconnect but was actually the only location that we had cell service. There is wifi on the property but it wasn't needed for our stay. We gazed at the stars, heard howling coyotes every night, saw bunnies, bats and heard an owl right outside the window. The location is minutes to the Big Bend entrance. Several restaurants are at walking distance which we enjoyed. The view of the Chisos Mountains are spectacular! Coleman was a wonderful host and easy to be reached if needed.

Excellent for one person or a couple. Nice access to Big Bend NP, Big Bend Ranch SP, Blackjacks Crossing golf course at Lajitas and the beautiful drive to Presidio. Outdoor shower a +++. Excellent communication with the owner and his recommendations were perfect. I’d stay there again if in the area.

Beautiful grounds and really authentic feel. The staff were just the best and really helpful. The area is beautiful and perfect for dark skies and a hop to the national park. There's lots of food options and the deli was well stocked, the restaurant's staff were just lovely and they had a great selection of wine. There's enough on the site to keep you entertained during rainy days and the morning coffee is brilliant.

It’s basic, with no frills but it’s also a brand new facility, that is absolutely spotless and has the most caring, wonderful staff you’ll ever come across. It is also the best bang for the buck, in the area as well.

While I was disappointed in the room and proximity to Big Bend, I very much liked the cafe—good, home cooked food and friendly staff. I met the office staff the day after we checked in and they were very nice as well. Never having been to this area, resort was misleading to me, rustic cabin might be better. Given this is a dark sky area, there needs to be some signage or a couple of lights to direct us to the cabins in the pitch black at 6:30 PM in the winter months after the office closes at 5.

We stayed here to explore Big Bend because the Park was full. While it was over an hour drive to the park, there was little traffic and the scenery was pleasant. It has a restaurant and a pool, both of which is a plus
