Very unique. It was fabulous. The airstream was so cool and made us smile. Everything worked great. Hot tub is a nice touch. Loved our time there. The heaters helped but was a cold night so a bit chilly but thanks for the extra blankets. The dog park was perfect. Whiskey loved it

Such a comfy homey vibe, the owner Shem is an absolute LEGEND, we arrived late at night after a very long drive from the Grand Canyon in our West US road trip, and he welcomed us with some beers and a great chat around the beautiful wooden counter. Just what we needed after many nights at motels on the go. Next day he made the best eggs and bacon breakfast which got us the energy we needed for the next chapter of our trip. We didn’t get the chance to explore the area as we had to make it to Vegas early in the day, but having stayed at this gem was one of the highlights of our trip. Wishing the best for Shem and his wife! Hopefully see you again one day! 100% recommended if you’re looking to stay in the area

FAQs about hotels in Grand Canyon

Sculpted by Nature

The awe-inspiring Grand Canyon stands testament to the sculpting power of nature. Over millennia the Colorado River has carved its way through over 250 miles of multi-layered rock and now lies over 1 mile below the canyon rim.

The majority of hotels near the Grand Canyon are in historic Flagstaff, in a valley overlooked by mountains. Part of legendary Route 66 runs through here and continues to Seligman where you can still get your kicks and a good helping of kitsch. Between them is Williams, from where trains depart to Grand Canyon Village, home to some impressive South Rim lookouts.

The closest Grand Canyon South Rim hotels on Booking.com are in Tusayan, from whose airport plane and helicopter rides take off. The moment you cross the canyon rim and see the ground suddenly drop away is absolutely breathtaking.

More aircraft are in Valle museum to the south, while west is sleepy Peach Springs, capital of the Hualapai native people, through whose territory the Grand Canyon passes. Also on their land is the Skywalk where a U-shaped platform extends over the canyon, offering wonderful views of this Natural Wonder of the World as it gleams in the sun.

On the opposite side is the less-visited Grand Canyon North Rim and its closest hotels are found in Kanab in Utah.

Seligman is a quaint little place keeping the spirt of Route 66 alive. We absolutely loved it! If you need your dose of nostalgia you must visit Seligman at some point. We needed a weekend away that was easy and close to home so Seligman was our choice. We were not disappointed! There is a place there called Route 66 Motorporium. Go check that one out. They have a lot of old cars and motorcycles. They have an extensive gift shop with something for everyone. The saloon was fun. The general store was awesome. We walked up and down down too. I couldn't believe it but there were two almost identical Edsel Fords there. Not gonna lie that kinda blew my mind a little. I wonder if either of them was running driving. Anyway I am probably going back to Seligman again at some point. Everyone there was very kind and friendly and we really enjoyed the trip.

This place is truly special if you're looking for peace and a unique experience. At night, you can see the stars so clearly, and the silence is incredible, you can literally hear it. It feels like a real escape. The bungalow includes essentials like shampoo, soap, conditioner, and towels, which is very convenient. There are lights, and the host is very responsive and quick to reply. It felt like an adventure, something different from a typical stay. We were lucky that the other two bungalows were empty, so we had more freedom and privacy when using the shared bathroom. The host also sends a Google Maps link to help you find the place (just make sure not to arrive after dark). That said, there are a few things to consider. The location is quite remote, about 50 minutes from the nearest pharmacy, so you need to come prepared. The road to get there is very rough, with large potholes, so it’s highly recommended to go with a truck or SUV; a regular car might not handle it well. The bathroom is shared, which means getting dressed and walking outside in the middle of the night if needed. Charging devices can be tricky, phones only charge at night (likely solar-powered), and the bedside lamp doesn’t plug in properly, so it keeps saying “low battery, please charge.” The space is also a bit tight; my partner (6 ft) and I (5’4”) both had to be careful not to hit our heads on the slanted side walls. The AC didn’t work well, and it takes some time to figure out how everything works (shower, outlets, etc.), so clear instructions would really help. Overall, it’s perfect for one or two nights if you want a peaceful, adventurous escape, but not ideal for a longer stay. Also, not recommended for kids, this is better suited for couples (ideally ones who get along very well 😊).

Hildale is a small town with a small town feel.

Hildale is a small town with a small town feel. There isn't much there to interact with but you can explore the surrounding areas and it's close to the Arizona border. Its a decent drive from most of the cities or attractions so if you don't mind a little drive it's not bad. One of the diners we dined at was very homey and the people like family. Nothing fancy but some good food and good conversation. Once the lights go out it's pretty dark but during the day a lot of mountains around. The people were very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to go back because of the people and how they made you feel: like family.

For our Grand Canyon West adventure, we enjoyed staying in the cooler Peach Springs at Hualapai Lodge. Staff recommended the drive down Diamond Creek to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for some swimming, wildlife viewing. The views were amazing. Nearby cute unique shops, the Walapai market across the street had good coffee shop serving Starbucks essentials. The restaurant served delicious food and the gift shop had great prices.
