"If you have kids I recommend you to go to the Aquarium of Austin it was super cool for my kids to see all the animals they had to offer. When you've worked up an appetite I recommend trying Eureka I ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich it was to die for. Downtown Austin is a total vibe it's clean and have so many pedestrian biking or walking their dogs it's so much to do there. First time visiting Austin and it will not be my last time there."

"San Marcos is a nice town it's that Motel that has poor management. We have been having to stay at a different more expensive Motel. Until we find a home to rent. I wouldnt recommend that specific Motel 6 not even for my worst enemy. Thats how bad management is at that Motel. As long as that old rude lady continues working there. I know I'm not the only customer you'll have lost because of her. So good luck . I'm making it a priority to tell everyone I know not to go to that Motel 6."

"Hotel was very clean. Easy access to and from the freeway. Front desk was more than accommodating and very friendly and helpful! Housekeeping also was very friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable, best sleep we’ve ever gotten in a hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here and we’ll stay again when in the area. We were extremely pleased!"

"Always fun to fly to San Antonio and hang by the River Walk. A friend recommended The Pearl Area off Karnes Street and we loved it! Good food and great atmosphere to hang out at if you have an early flight and can’t check into hotel yet. Plenty of free parking. We had the Carribean food at the foot court there. It was delicious! Schlitterbahn was not as great this year. They said we had to book reservation to limit capacity due to Covid, clearly not the case as parking lots were as full as ever , lots of rides shut down due to supposed staffing but we saw plenty of staff standing around doing nothing so with not as many rides to spread people out it was crowded and hard to find inner tubes. Floated the Comal river two days- once with the Float Inn - they raised all their prices! ALOT! And once with NB Toobs on a Groupon. Both were pleasant experiences and we had a good time floating like always. Due to others not cleaning up after themselves they have now banned ALL disposable drink containers on the river. Sad a few can ruin it for many- clean up after yourselves people!"

"It has a nice downtown with lots of different shops to visit. Recommend to visit wild seed farm/winery and dedicate a day to visit enchanted rock going hiking and have a picnic. We enjoyed spending one evening at the city center park. There are some nice museums to visit. Also few miles from Fredericksburg is Hamilton natural pool to visit and enjoy dipping in the natural water."

"Wonderful, quiet area with lots of shopping centers. Close distance to Austin. Big selection of eateries. We loved eating breakfast bagels from Einstein bros. So much convenience right around the corner from our hotel but also nice and quiet. Grocery stores like HEB close by in case you want to just buy snacks and stay in the hotel and avoid the crowds. Delivery options available for most restaurants. Easy access to highways in case you want to visit some tourist attractions. An area that definitely makes you feel safe."

"We were only there for one day (two nights), but got a chance to drive around the old town area while we were there. We had several restaurants on our radar and tried Del Norte for a great breakfast on Sunday, Billy Genes for a perfect dinner with a river view, and Rio Rancho Cafe for breakfast on our way out. We highly recommend all three. I you like fresh tamales, be sure to stop at Rio Rancho. They make everything in-house, and they know what they are doing!! It was hard to make our choices! My fav detail...they serve breakfast all day."

"I love the history of the area and all the natural beauty too. We visited Inner Space which was right there. We could park our car at the hotel and just walk to town. Which is recommended since there is a 2 hr parking limit in town on the square and after some wine and shopping the time slips away. :)"

I love how calmed it was, the personnel was so nice and it was a great location! We really love all the details inside the cottage, how spacey it was, the bed was like a cloud so comfy! In the morning we took a walk in the surroundings of the property, we really loved the sound of the birds, the friendly cows, and some sights of lovely deer, you are just so connected to nature and the main streets for Fredericksburg it's just 15 min away, we will definitely be coming back. Thank you for everything ❤️

Lots of great food and people are friendly.

Lots of great food and people are friendly. I loved Moonshine cafe for any meal of the day. Food is perfect and staff are welcoming. I always get around via Uber and wait time is usually short. I like history and the outdoors so I had fun at Barton Springs and downtown museums. Several other great spots for activities are within hour drive. They do have a lot of homeless people downtown but no one was excessively aggressive.

Be sure to visit a restaurant called Cowboys & Cadillacs roof top bar. There are fire pits, an actual Airstream trailer, band and multi level cozy places to sit. Upscale steakhouse, but you can wear nice casual clothes. Another place I recommend is The Hideaway. We had a good time with friends there. Food and live music was great. Outdoor space. Visit Canyon Lake Dam.

Fredericksburg is a great destination whether you're passing through or planning a Hill Country vacation. There's great choices for eating, (adult) drinking, and live entertainment. Shopping along Main Street is a wonderful assortment of shops to keep you occupied for more than a few days! For history buffs, there are numerous sites to visit and learn, not the least of which is the National Museum of the Pacific War (WWII). For wine aficionados, you're in Heaven. Smack dab in the middle of Texas wine country. Oh, and there are a number of outstanding breweries and distilleries, if wine is not your "thing". If you've never been, you need to plan a visit!

I wasn't really there on a trip. I used to live there and I went back to get my things out of storage. It's a great place though especially if you go to the downtown area. Cute, safe and lots of little festivals during weekends. Also, make sure you stop at Round Rock Donuts. I don't like donuts but they are famous for their glazed donuts and after one bite, you'll see why!

unlike other parts in Texas.

unlike other parts in Texas. There are some crystal clear rivers going through this beautiful town, the water is cool, there are a lot of shads in several parks for free or only $5-6 entrance fee. There are also a beautiful collage in this town. A huge premium outlet mall located in the south part of town, people can spend a half day there just shopping. It is a very good place for travel, for seeing the natural, culture and also shopping.

We were invited by friends to Bandera in October 2025 for Hunters Weekend. We loved it! Our main like was that it was people our age. (middle, and older) Not a bunch of kids just trying to get drunk. The bars had awesome music. Prices were a little high, but being it was a special weekend, we totally understood. We made a second trip with the same friends for Mardi Gras....a blast!

Boerne, TX definitely ended up going beyond my expectations. Even though it's a small town, it looks super clean, has really good restaurants, local breweries, a beautiful river, also in the surroundings you can find local wineries and vineyards (where you can actually do wine tasting). It was funded by German people in the 1800s so you'll be able to find german food and of course beer.

Georgetown is a busy, well laid out town.

Georgetown is a busy, well laid out town. The area surrounding the Court House is attractive with numerous shops and restaurants. The museum has free entrance and is a useful source of information relating to the history of the town. There is a Saturday market which is well supported and attended. This does make parking near the town square scares but a few blocks away spaces can be found. The Inner Space Cavern is a “must visit” attraction and is highly recommended.
