We absolutely loved our stay here! Our room and all the common areas were incredibly clean. Our room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were kind and so incredibly helpful. It was really great value for our money, and very close to the main part of the village. Breakfast was awesome! Huge kudos to all the staff; especially the front desk staff, the cleaning staff, and the staff in charge of breakfast. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to others!

Perfect location, beautiful views. You’re right at the end of the main “downtown” strip so you can walk wherever you need. Clean & well-maintained spaces. Loved the cozy & inviting hang out spaces on the first floor rather than a big open lobby. Groups of people were just relaxing & playing games all the time, great vibe overall. Bartender was phenomenal! Heat/air worked well in the room. Convenient free parking.

The location is amazing. Gorgeous views right out the back window. Private entrances. Nice shower! Awesome playground. Near enough to the town of Lake Placid, but just enough apart to truly enjoy the surrounding nature. Truly a great value. Stayed here 20 years ago, and it still was just as lovely. We'll be back much sooner next time.

Lake Placid is lovely.

Lake Placid is lovely. Lots of cute shops, came home with lots of 1980 Olympic memorabilia, good ice cream!! Took the tour of Herb Brooks Arena with Sean, our tour guide (request him!). Beautful country! Not the best restautants, got sick after eating at one. Another, the menu wasn't very extensive, and another closed early. But, it was still a very fun time.

It is a walkable town with interesting shops and historic sites. There are easy trails nearby. Wildlife is plentiful and deer can be seen at dusk and dawn. People are very friendly, often greeting you on the street. You feel very safe, and more importantly, genuinely welcome. The Riverwalk running through the town gives it a feel like Venice.

Wilmington is about 20 mins from Lake Placid and 30 from Saranac Lake, If you intend to be closer to the "action" in town (restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc), you may not want to stay so far out. If your main attraction is Whiteface, Wilmington probably fits the bill.

Its a small town with one of everything - gas station, restaurant, grocery store, bar etc. Everything is pricey with limited choices. There is nothing one can do here. Its just a place to stay. Some landmarks are close by. That's the best part.

The majority of activities are for adult aged visitors, youngsters might not find the Olympic Village history as amazing as adults. Not a lot of family activities. Beautiful town, nice restaurants and the ability to walk around the lake each day is a big plus for keeping up with your fitness. I would definitely visit again but would not take our young grandchildren there. The Olympic ski jumping was great and we actually got to see two jumpers training. The museum and ice arenas were great and brings you right back to the miracle on ice as well as Eric Heiden's 5 gold medals! We ate in the village, The Cottage, Generations and the burger and brewery restaurant right next to our hotel, and capped it off with ice cream at Emma's!

Our family of six had a wonderful five-day stay at this cozy Wilmington cabin, which offered the perfect balance of quiet relaxation and incredible convenience. Being just four minutes from Whiteface Mountain made our ski trips effortless, and we were so impressed by how quickly the property was cleared and maintained when it snowed. It was a warm, well-kept retreat that fit our large group perfectly—we can’t wait to come back!

Lake placid is very beautiful, the natural scenery is stunning. The town is filled with beautiful hotels, great restaurants and bars. The miracle on ice rink is a must see. Plenty of things to do on the water like paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. Great hikes not far from lake placid.

We stayed in Saranac Lake to be close to Lake Placid and High Peaks hiking as well as to be centrally located for the Adirondack bike trail. We did rent bikes in town and ride on the trail, which is beautiful and wasn’t overly crowded.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village. Water is clean enough to take a dip and there is a waterfall which makes for a great hang-out spot. Restaurants abound for breakfast and dinner, would recommend the Hungry Trout resort restaurant for a delicious dinner with river views and great service. Activities include riverside hikes and swims in the summer, and skiing in the winter. We will be back.
