Pete and Sandy are exceptional hosts who made our stay really special. They don’t follow some standard rulebook—they just genuinely care and go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you need. The rooms are individually decorated and comfortable, and the backyard is designed based on Feng Shui principles, which creates a really calm and relaxing atmosphere. They offer breakfast and dinner, and the food was fantastic. Sandy is a very good cook and Pete is a fun “waiter” who keeps things entertaining. They even made a special dinner for our honeymoon, which was such a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed our time at The Retreat at Froog Moore Park so much and would definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Tamworth.

The location was great, especially as it looks still to be a working sheep farm. The grounds are beautifully kept, there has been a lot of money and effort put into restoring the original farm buildings while still modenising them. It was zero degrees the night we stayed and yet we were cosy and warm in the sheep shearers quarters. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.

A well planned and well finished luxury property set in extensive rural grounds. Everything was perfect from the five star luxury accommodation, ‘hidden’ behind the agricultural facades, to the high class restaurant with panoramic views over the vast tree dotted pasture.

There is no doubt this is luxury farm stay, and the renovations are second to none. We had lunch in glasshouse restaurant and it was good, but the view is just superb. I was very surprised at how well the bar fridge was stocked, and the number of people there over the New Year period. The gardens, even for a non-gardener, were well done and well maintained. If you stay, do yourself a favor and do a drive to Nundle and have lunch at the Peel Inn -- you will be surprised.
