Beautiful hotel with a phenomenal view of both the city and the bay. The accommodations were outstanding, beautifully furnished, and luxurious. Delicious food served by the restaurant and staff that go out of their way to accommodate any requests. The pools were clean and a perfect temperature. Less than a 10-min easy walk into old, colonial PV. Can’t say enough good things about Marcela Resort & Spa. Hated leaving and look forward to our return.

This hotel was exceptional at every turn and I can't wait to go back. For all of the people working there - from wait staff to musicians to the concierge, to front desk and even cleaning staff-everyone was friendly, competent, and warm. People did their jobs well, and went above and beyond. One morning they ran out of a cereal my son liked, and someone ran to get him more from next door. Waiters and waitresses learned your coffee order after a few days. Staff also had a great command of English, putting non-Spanish speaking guests at ease. The pool area is perfect; yes, a little crowded during spring break weeks, but large enough that groups could spread out. There were mostly families there, but some couples and older groups as well. Some older guests told me that they have been coming to this hotel for years - that says a lot! The grounds are beautiful! It feels like a botanic garden and the peacocks & iguanas are exciting to see. Beds are comfortable, and great value getting a full apartment. Views were stunning! The property is large enough that you can enjoy different activities, but not so big that you feel you are getting lost or in a tourist bubble, as with some all-inclusives. The hotel leans into its Mexican identity, which is wonderful! The programming/evening entertainment (including Mexican night) was fun and enough to give guests (including tweens and teens) fun things to do (karaoke, casino night, dance performances, cultural shows etc) where they might feel like they have some independence, but within the safety of the hotel grounds. The hotel is so close to the airport, the commute was a breeze. Getting an uber from the hotel to town (as a solo mom with 2 kids) was safe, inexpensive, and quick. The food was excellent and varied. Breakfast was delicious, and the beachside cafe was our favorite. Pool games, including volleyball, water aerobics, poolside ping pong and crafting, were fun and well-attended. We'll definitely be back!

Christian's place is exactly as pictured. POOL: The rooftop pool is even better than you can imagine. There's a swim-up bar and great servers up there--shout out to Daniel & Edgar. The pool-side food is actually pretty good and not too expensive, the chilaquiles and hashbrowns were especially great. There are not that many loungers, but we never had trouble getting a chair. If you get up there by 9/930am, you can always reserve a few chairs. VIBES: It's a slightly older set of folks at the building/pool than I expected, but they were welcoming and kind, and it's sort of the case for the entire Zona Romantica. It's very LGBTQ-friendly, but there are definitely straight folks, too. It's not a party scene, but it is very fun, and people are drinking and laughing throughout the day. We met people in the pool everyday and ended up hanging out with several of them a few of the nights we were there. LOCATION: The location is perfect. I was worried about the stairs and the funicular, but it's not that bad and super easy. Location is wonderful, less than a 10m walk to basically everything in Zona Romantica. We did not take an Uber at all except to/from the airport. Otherwise, we walked everywhere. ROOM: The room is perfect. The A/C is strong. There is filtered water and ice from the fridge. Christian left out some snacks, which were much appreciated. There's towels for the bathroom and for the beach. There are towels at the pool so you don't need to bring any. CHECK-IN: Super easy. There's a key combo for the door and card keys for the elevator. Christian sends an amazing welcome email with great info about getting cash and airport transportation. SAFETY: The building is super safe and the neighborhood is, too. We never felt unsafe at any point.

We booked this place last minute because we were taking the water taxi to Yelapa from Boca. It was amazing! Blew us away. Was much more than we expected. I think it was built with the idea of it being a venue for weddings, etc but when there are no events going on it is pretty empty. Would highly recommend and would have stayed longer if I could have!

This was by far the most beautiful resort that we have ever had the pleasure of staying at! The room was phenomenal with a view of the ocean, facilities were updated and clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was ENORMOUS with a gorgeous walk-in shower and I love that the toilet was separate in a small room with a door. The decor was very well put-together so the aesthetic overall was incredible.

The condo is big, comfortable, clean, and has all the amenities! There was a great business work station with a printer and 2 computer screens and easy to access wifi. washer/dryer and plenty of towels, including beach towels. There were beach chairs, a beach wagon and cooler that made life so much easier & the beach more enjoyable! The king size bed is comfortable. There was a relaxing waterfall shower with a separate detachable shower head making bathing a little kid easy. There was a special built in filtration system that allows us to use the refrigerator ice and drink from the filtered tap safely- a delightful and much appreciated surprise! The rooftop pool was comfortable with stunning views. It is in a gated community with security 24/7, whom also make rounds, making it feel safe. The location is walkable to the cruise ship harbor and grocery store and nice walk to the hotel zone or an easy uber to the Romantica Zona. The owner was highly responsive, communicative, and friendly. We much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!
