We had an absolutely wonderful stay with a truly authentic atmosphere. The place feels genuine and full of character. Said is an exceptional host — very kind, attentive, and funny. As a local Bedouin, he brings a truly authentic experience that you simply cannot replicate elsewhere. His stories and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We enjoyed several activities, including a camel ride, an exciting 4x4 desert drive, and sandboarding — all of which I can highly recommend. Everything was well organized and added so much to the overall experience. The evening sitting by the fire, listening to local stories under the breathtaking night sky full of stars, was the perfect highlight and made the whole experience even more magical. The stay at Desert Diamond Camp was excellent! Sultan picked us up from the meet point and took us to the camp and we were welcomed with a campfire and fresh tea and coffee! The tents were vary spacious, clean and cosy, and the bathroom facilities clean. The next morning we walked to the sand dunes and the children did sand boarding. Sultan especially and the camp staff ensured our stay was comfortable and we highly enjoyed our stay in the desert!

Salem Fish Guest House is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Al Ḩadd where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. The air-conditioned accommodations are 1.5 miles from Al Hadd Beach.

Salem was the best host of our entire Oman trip. He brought us to see rescued turtles and blue tears. It was magical seeing thousands of dolphins on his boat ride. He personally made karak tea for us. When we needed his help he was always there. He had lots of tips to explore the area eg the pink beach. Dinner was a wonderful spread. We had the best briyani in the whole of Oman. Fish and prawns were very fresh. Staff was very friendly and lovely. He also has a very affectionate cat that needs a lot of attention.

Arabian Nights Resort & Spa features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool, a terrace and bar in Shāhiq. The resort provides both free WiFi and free private parking.

They were very friendly during check-in. Separate from the resort, I had hired a private driver who attempted to extort me. Luckily I escaped the situation and a driver from the resort picked me up. Still, the driver continued to contact me asking for money and threatening to call the police. He even called the hotel several times. After explaining the situation the hotel staff were very understanding and helped to ward him off. Long story short, the staff will make you feel safe here! Anyway, they offer a range of fun cultural and physical activities to try. I did the Bedouin house tour, Sunset drive, Sand Boarding (highly recommend, good fun), and Camel ride. The food at the restaurant is good and portions are generous. The pool was nice and I wish I used it more.
