This is a quant bed/breakfast/tavern. We had a great dinner and drinks when we arrived and breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and excellent. The room was charming. You have the climb the stairs to get around this historic building, but the rooms were nice. The location is right in the middle of this historic town of Hexham. It was a great spot to stay when touring Hadrian's wall.

The breakfast was very good. There were several choices and Elizabeth cooked us a full traditional breakfast, which was more that sufficient and we didn't need to have lunch later. The farm is in a quiet, secluded location and the entire area is beautiful and interesting. All in all, a very pleasant and memorable experience.

Love this area and the Twice Brewed Inn is the perfect place to stay to explore on foot. It's a brew pub with a tap room too with a good variety of IPAs and stouts, my favourite being Main Offender, an imperial stout. Food is excellent and served by very pleasant staff. A warm and comfortable bedroom was waiting at the end of the day.

The staff in the hotel were lovely and friendly. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings where the meals were perfect. Breakfast was relaxed and hearty to set you up for the day. A perfect location for exploring the area in particular Hadrian’s Wall and it’s forts nearby.

Beautiful riverside location and gardens, comfortable room. Limited but decent vegan food options at dinner and they made the risotto vegan for me, though it arrived rather over-peppered. Great informal areas near the bar with armchairs and lovely views which made it a place you could really relax and spend time in.

A fabulous Romantic Castle set in its own grounds. We had a room in the 'lodge' which had a great view of the castle and gardens. Mock-medieval, with 21st century facilities! Lovely bathroom, tapestry behind the bed! Windows that opened wide to let in the fresh air and birdsong. Breakfast was exceptional. The best eggs-royale I ever tasted. Perfect hollandaise sauce over soft-poached eggs. Staff all friendly, polite and helpful. Truly a 4-star experience.

The peaceful setting on the River Tyne. It was lovely to look out onto the river while enjoying our delicious meals, or just sitting relaxing in the pleasant gardens having a coffee The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the manager, Louise . We booked a superior room which was well worth the extra as it contained a sofa where we could relax after our day sightseeing.

Lovely, friendly staff. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the bridge. The bar was comfortable, food good and the packed lunch for walkers the next day was appreciated. Garden was nice and perfect spot for a bit of yoga over looking the river first thing. After a long hike it was great to have the pool, steam room and jacuzzi to relax in.
