They gave us a huge 2 bedroom suite for only 2 of us! It’s very clean and modern. And directly across the street from the DOC visitor center. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We were booked here but upgraded to the Te Waonui hotel so please recognize that this review is actually of that facility. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Chef’s 5 course Degustation at the Canopy Restaurant at the hotel. Breakfasts provided plenty of variety. This was a great base to visit both Fox and Franz Josef glaciers.

Offering accommodations with free WiFi, satellite TV and lovely mountain views, Rainforest Motel is 5 minutes’ drive from Lake Matheson. Guests can enjoy the gardens overlooking Mount Fox.
