We upgraded to the Mountain View room and we highly recommend it. The view is just amazing, waking up every day and being able to watch sunrise. The beds were very comfy. The staff were great and the use of the hot tub. You do need a car to get there but it’s so close to Banff’s town centre.

It was well placed for visiting the national parks. It was spacious and probably the best equipped place we stayed in. The trains pass near by making quite a lot of noise with their horns, but for us that was part of the Canadian experience!

Quiet cabin. It was nice to be away from the tourist traps of the main towns. The hike to Johnston Falls starts in property and was a great destination. The cabin was clean, warm, and sturdy—never would have guessed that it was built around 1900. Bathroom was freshly redone.

Nice location, easy to reach but secluded enough to escape the crowds. Serviceable kitchen and washrooms/showers, and an outdoor fireplace that's close but not too close to the main building. Friendly staff and patrons. They've added WiFi relatively recently. Given the alternatives in the area, the price/quality ratio of this and other hostels in the Rockies is automatically quite good, so take that into account when interpreting their ratings.

I sent an email to them. I don’t think the room was fully cleaned before it was given to us a check in. or at least after someone said, it was clean, nobody double checked it, because someone had left T-shirts and underwear behind the bathroom door, crumbs, all in and around the toaster, coffee maker, not cleaned, and other dirty dishes.
