PortugalWe had the loveliest stay at Maria's casa! The ground-floor apartment is next to her home but with its own entrance, outdoor space, and is completely private. It was perfectly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The beautiful bathroom is extra large. The spacious bedroom has one queen-sized bed and one twin. (The children's items shown in the photos are kept in a closet and taken out by Maria if children are expected.) The apartment is on a quiet residential street across from the Duero River, located just steps away from everything Tordasillas has to offer - many cafes and restaurants, numerous interesting historic sites, painted murals throughout the town that reflect the regional culture and history, a lively main square, and an outdoor market on Tuesday. In addition to the town's offerings, we enjoyed an evening stroll along the river, complete with beautiful wildflowers and shady trees along the way. (My husband had knee replacement surgery 7 weeks before our visit, and the town was easily navigable for him.) While you're there, be sure to look up, especially at the church towers, to find stork nests. Our hostess Maria was such a delight and was eager to help in any way! All the townspeople we encountered were the same. Three ladies even walked us to the market when we were having trouble finding our way! We're looking forward to our next visit!

We had dinner and breakfast - both excellent food (local, typical cuisine) and good value. We definitely recommend staying here.

High standard of accommodation and service. Large rooms beautifully furnished. Easy access to the motorway for those traveling northeast out of Madrid, and would also work for a last night in Spain for an afternoon flight. Stunning breakfast of the highest quality.

The location is lovely, and only a short walk across the river from the town centre, which is delightful. Free parking on-site is always a bonus, as are the low bar prices and availability of tapas in said bar. The outside terrace overlooking the Duero and the medieval bridge is a delight. A good overnight stop on a long journey, close to the motorway, and very good value.
