Everything, it’s a hidden gem, they have a samurai sword smith near by that gives 1 in 1 lesson on blade making and u get to keep the mini katana that u forge during class.

I spent a night with the shukubo family Baba and Ari. They served me very friendly and sincerely, and both the dinner and breakfast are incredible. It feels like home every moment when you stay there, and I would probably visit again in next year.

Super unique and cool. A bit out there but if you can make your way it is totally worth it. The host was a super friendly man and made it very easy.

This shukubu has been in the family for 16 generations and it shows! The owners were so kind and welcoming. They really know how to treat a guest. The place is recently renovated, and is beautifully crafted with gorgeous wood throughout. The beds were very comfortable, and the onsen was top notch. Everything was spotless. The dinner was gigantic, so many things I’ve never tried before and it all tasted great. The breakfast was spectacular as well. The Mount Mitake area is a perfect respite from the crowds of Tokyo- whether you’re hiking or just soaking up some peace.

Very comfortable and clean for our family's stay. Great atmosphere and vibe throughout the home. Very convenient location for hiking Mt Mitake. We loved the nice large bathtub as well. So nice to soak after a long day of hiking. It was equipped with everything you would need (including 3 prong plugs which my husband found useful for his laptop). A previous review stated there weren't curtains in one of the bedrooms, but that was remedied as there were nice shutters to use during our stay. We had a lovely stay and we would recommend it to others!

My room was really comfortable and clean, with a beautiful view. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional. I also enjoyed the hot bath.

Incredibly cozy and comfortable house, a short walk from the train station which, comfortable and cozy space. The free beverages were a nice touch. The shower/bath room was amazing. Be aware that all common spaces are shared, including the bathroom and shower, and so you will have to wait to use the bathroom if it is occupied.

Peaceful, Well-Located Mountain Retreat at Mount Mitake We had a great stay at this mountain house near Mount Mitake. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the train station, which made getting there and exploring the area very easy. The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped, with a cozy wood stove that we really enjoyed using in the evenings. The views from the property are beautiful, especially in the early morning and at sunset. It’s quiet, clean, and surrounded by nature, but still very accessible. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape from the city with great access to hiking and the mountains.

The property is well designed and very interesting. I felt at home right away. Everything we needed for our family of four was included. The high quality materials and furnishings were both beautiful and enjoyable. The hosts are very thoughtful and speak English well. They own a cafe near by. They were very accommodating!
