United StatesI chose the pousada for 1) its location, 2) the rate, 3) the likelihood of more Brazilian clients (i.e., away from the hyped-up resort type of pousadas), and 4) the reviews. The reviews mostly praised the friendliness of the staff. That was definitely a selling point. I could not agree more. The staff is excellent throughout the entire facility: polite, willing to help immediately, has a good sense of humor, and always smiles. Plus, the pousada was quiet at night for a relaxing sleep.

The house is well organized and large. The beds are good, the rooms have A/C and the kitchen is well equiped as well as the laundry room. We enjoyed the pool as it was really in the sun. Also clean, the poolboy came by one day, so very nice. The area is a 5-10 min uber from the beach. All in all we are very happy we stayed here.

Beautiful and spacious property with amazing garden to hang out. Lots of space to enjoy sun all day by pool and close enough for short walk to Geribá beach. Very comfortable house with everything you need to spend some quiet days away from home, including tv in every room, outside dining area and BBQ facilities. Hilminha (the host) and her family are really friendly and helpful. Recommend highly!

The property is beautiful, very charming and cosy. 3 pools and beautiful view. Rooms are clean, however the tiles on the shower floor need replacing. Bathroom a bit small in our room. Breakfast is good.

Pousada is very well taken care of with good breakfast and very nice staff! Rooms are spacious and recently renovated. Good location as it’s very close to the Tartaruga Beach (5-10min walking) and short drive to Rua das Pedras.

Breakfast was really good. The room was pretty spacious and bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is good if you want to stay a little far from the center, but it is close to the hiking trails.

Would recommend Pousada Vila do Mar to anyone! It’s a beautiful property right in the heart of Búzios. The staff is wonderful, breakfast is good, and the rooms are spacious. We spring for a suite with a beach view and could watch each sunset from our room - spectacular!

The location of the hotel is sublime - the views from our room were second to none
The staff are extremely polite and helpful, always greeting us with a smile.
The breakfast every morning was very tasty and beyond satisfying.
The art on display would take your breath away.
The owner's dog, Luna, is the sweetest and friendliest red setter to have ever lived and saying goodbye to her was very difficult.

The place is beautiful, the room was impeccable and the breakfast was out of this world. The couple that keeps the guesthouse wakes up at 5am to prepare the breakfast with a new baked fresh cake everyday! They deserve their 10 stars on booking with honors!
