Self-Catering Accommodations in Mindo

It is a little bit out of town so very peaceful but not too far where getting into town is difficult. It is only a short walk.. You wake up to the sound of birds pecking at your window and after a day of activities can chill on the hammocks watching the mist come down on the mountains and the birds in the garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

La Chonta is unlike anywhere I’ve stayed before. Deep in the cloud forest, super quiet, and surrounded by nature. The room was simple but comfortable. Loved the vibe—totally off-grid and peaceful. Andres is the coolest host! Would definitely come back.

The staff was very flexible in accommodating our schedule and the laundry service was excellent. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the shower hot.

Stayed in the room with the bunk bed with our two kids. Fantastic hostel. Location was amazing, simply could not be better. Super eclectic. Host was very kind and helpful, we used Google Translate:) walls were thin, so you can hear the town noise, no an issue for us, but to be aware of. Loved all the places to just hang out and chill, the hammocks, couches, had such a great vibe.

Nice large room, comfortable bed, hammock on balcony with scenic view, hot water in shower, good wifi. Shared kitchen in cabin which I didn't use except to heat up water to clean my water bottles. Walk to town only 6 minutes along scenic road with no traffic. Healthy substantial breakfast with scenic view and hummingbirds, including healthy bread, homemade jam, varied juices and fruits, choice of omelets with veggies and cheese. Room cleaned on request. Staff was very nice, responded quickly to WhatsApp messages in attempts to help me with questions. They brought my breakfast over to the shared kitchen in my cabin so I could eat in peace when there was a large local group dining at my breakfast time. The hiking trails were very scenic, enjoyable even in the rain, didn't see monkeys but I did hear them, only saw other people on my hikes 3 times, minimal trash on trails and none after I cleaned it up. They also arranged a nice safe driver for transport from Quito as I didn't want the hassle of the public bus since I was not staying near the bus terminal. I really wanted a place in a scenic area where I could relax away from traffic noise and loud tourists/locals after 10 weeks of overseas travel and this place was wonderful. I was only able to book thru this website for a few days but stayed 8 nights, would have stayed even longer if I hadn't already paid for flights.

It had everything you could need to feel it like home

WiFi good. Wi-Fi bueno Timber structure charming and quaint. Casa de madera encantadaro Spacious. La casa espaciosa Tony a marvel. Tony es una Maravilla Close to center. Cerca al centro Kitchen equipped. Coffee machine. La cocina bien. Maquina para pasar café, refre, platos, utensilios etc Bathrooms with soap, towels, toilet paper etc Tony was very responsive to our needs, he also arranged a Canyoning tour and transport for us on very short notice. Tony muy atento. Se puede organizar actividades con Tony.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. The apartment was super clean, the grounds were beautiful, and Nelly and her husband were super happy to help with anything we needed or any question we had. The apartment is a short 5 minute walk from town which was perfect for us - we felt nestled in the forest but could easily get to shopping, activities, and dining. I really appreciated having access to laundry as we had been traveling for weeks when we arrived in Mindo, and we had a couple more weeks of travel after we left.

The gardens are sooo beautiful, the house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything necessary to cook.

Perfect place to be. Serene, natural and secure.

This place is incredible. Plenty of room for my four person family and you could probably fit twice that. Beautiful outdoor cooking and dining area and a nice birdwatching area always has a few birds in it. The hostess was incredibly helpful and attentive. She was always happy to arrange rides or activities. It is a short and easy walk into the town. A beautiful place inside and out and a rare second bathroom is very helpful.
