A tranquil oasis in the heart of Kathmandu. Highly recommended!

We were looking for a quiet place outside the core city but within the city. Booked this place with not much expectation but turn out to be excellent choice exceeding our expectations. Good thing it will give you a home feeling, more than amenities, this "Home feel" was amazing. This family mingles so well in short conversations, giving us a homely feeling. Rooms were in a separate building from the host family all basic amenities were provided. Good bed, clean toilet, cozy kitchen with all required utensils. Short walk from the Swayambhunath Temple, 10-minute drive from Thamel. A peaceful place with a lot of greenery gives a feeling of a resort. Highly recommended for those who hate hotels and love to stay with family, better for longer stays

Wow! I would highly recommend staying here at the Raniban Suites! Amazing, quiet location, surrounded by the mountainous forests. I stayed in the studio apartment, which was clean, spacious, yet felt very comfortable and cozy. It had a fully equipped kitchen! Perfect for dinners in. The owner of the apartment was incredibly, incredibly, kind and helpful! He made the experience so very amazing! Thank you for my stay, I will be back next time I’m in Nepal😌

Its walking distance to all the nice restaurants, but far enough away from the tourist area.

It was just simple and great apartment setup for my short stay. This apartment was clean and I liked the kitchen amenities setup.

It was beautiful, really scenic and peaceful. Food was Delicious. I’d go back just for the food!

Very modern and cozy place with kitchen to cook as you desired, much more quieter than the rest of Kathmandu, just 15 min away from city center and you can get an InDrive (bike taxi) easily from there.

Super comfy mattress and linens. Wifi speed is good. Price is awesome. A few local restaurants are around. Mostly very quiet at night. Free drinking water.

The host was very responsive and proactive. We loved the area which is 15 minutes from Thamel and easy to get to. The area is quiet and home is spacious. There is a cafe nearby where you could have breakfast.

House of Forrest is a great place to stay in Kathmandu. The apartment is cozy, clean, and comfortable with everything you need. It’s in a quiet area which is nice for relaxing, but you can still get to Thamel or Swayambhu pretty easily. Really good value for money too. What really stood out was the owner. He genuinely cares about his guests. He offered help on many occasions, and when I came down with a fever, he even offered to take me to see a doctor and get medicine - true Nepali hospitality! I’d just finished two weeks trekking in the Himalayas and needed somewhere to recover. This place was perfect - quiet, peaceful, and exactly what I needed to recharge and get some work done. If you have time it’s very close to the forest reserve, which has a few hiking trails. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Great location, Thamel is very close by. Tourist busses are just around the corner. The owner is always in the neighbood. I enjoyed being able to sit outside on the terrace.

Responsive hosts, the water pressure was a little low the first day but they filled the water tank and the shower was nice after a day in the city. It was an excellent location with a 15 minute walk to Thamel, and 2 minute walk to nearby stores. Everything was clean, the place was spacious, and quiet. It was a great deal for the price.
