Self-Catering Accommodations in Karlstad

The location is excellent and check in was very easy through the self service kiosk. Laundry was easy to use and the kitchen was well appointed. The instructions are very clear and direct. The heated floor in the bathroom is a godsend in the Nordic winter, especially for someone from the North American Southwest!

I booked one night in a cabin to extend our stay in Karlstad – to be honest I wish I had booked this place for all the three days we were there. The cabin was surprisingly large, immaculately clean, well equipped and the kids loved having their own rooms. It was the clear winner of all the places we stayed on this trip, and the coastline within a couple of minutes' walk is lovely with several wild swimming locations. The large terrace with table and chairs was super, too.

We were treated to a Midsomer traditional surprise in the fridge and had a lovely time barbecuing in the garden while the children were playing!

Cozy spacious cabin with everything you need. Horses running around right outside the window. Nice view and extremely friendly owners. Shower and toilet right next to the cabin and very clean.

This review is for flat number 3, which looks over the inner yard and is on the lower floor. It is a no frills apartment, with limited space, two beds and somewhat outdated, but does-the-trick furniture. The kitchen is equipped with a micro and a filter coffee machine. Coffee was available. There was no milk and a minimum of what former guests had left. You will have to walk a bit to find some food, so if you arrive late, bring your own or order take-out. There is a hair dryer, an iron and board, some shampoo and some soap. Towels are available as are sheets. For 20-25 Euros more you get a boutique-type hotel downtown, including breakfast.

The location is amazing, direct access to a forest and a river, it feels like a countryside vacation, the studio is functional and everything in there is brand new.

The hosts, Jan and Pernille, were excellent! Friendly, welcoming and explained everything. The home in person is even nicer than the pictures. Super cosy and clean. Would recommend.

It was lovely - very small but perfect for our needs.
