First, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful! Well designed and clean. The restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed their 3 course lunch special. Location was excellent. Accessible to old town, shopping places and to other must see places in San Sebastián .

What a great hotel. It's in a nice street that's pretty close to the old town center. It's a lovely building that's been well maintained and looked after with a nicely decorated reception. The 3 reception staff we met were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was amazing - it had a real wow factor in terms of decor and size and layout (we had the superior double). It was very bright and the windows were well insulated to block out the sound of the moderate daytime traffic. I also heard no noise from other rooms. Everything was clean. There were free bottles of water and sodas in the room and in the basement lounge which had free coffee and tea supplied most of the day too. The bed was comfy although the pillows were a bit firmer than I'd have liked (perhaps they could provide some less firm spare ones in the wardrobe). The buffet breakfast was very good too - a nice spread of different foods supplied by a really pleasant and helpful waitress. So all in all an excellent hotel which I can't fault.

Hotel Avenida is located on Mount Igueldo overlooking San Sebastián. There is a swimming pool in the hotel´s garden and free access to the fitness center.
