3-Star Hotels in Bunaken

Novita is a great host, really easygoing and she has the coziest home, with a cute dog and cat. She also recommended us to go to her brother Lorenso, who has another homestay and we had an amazing snorkeling afternoon there (just in front of Lorenso's). I was also lucky enough to be there for a wedding of a family member of hers, which made my stay in Bunaken even more memorable. Overall, I felt like home :) Rooms have mosquito nets and fans.

The location is perfect, just right at the end of the jetty. They have a working AC, cozy bed and clean room. They offer extra bed for a small charge if you want to use the room for 3 persons. Bella, Om Hengky, Om Glen and Tante Meyta are wonderful host. The food is great, it’s mainly seafood, but you can always asks them to provide you something else if reasonable. They have plenty beans-bag offering a nice cozy corner for our afternoon afterdive nap

We made a last-minute decision to visit Bunaken Island and decided to stay at Cha Cha after looking at its location and reviews. Little did we know, our stay at Cha Cha quickly became our favourite vacation. Bunaken has beautiful, pristine, vibrant reefs, and snorkeling was accessible at the resort’s beach. But what made the stay at Cha Cha exceptional was the hospitality. Agnes, the manager and chef, was a lovely person. We enjoyed many conversations with her and her amazing food. We looked forward to every dinner; you can taste the passion in her cooking. Cindy's Iced milk coffee hit the spot on a hot, sunny afternoon, post-lunch. Mul, the snorkeling guide, was so patient, even when one of us had thalassophobia and was anxious about snorkeling, which was helpful in facing the fear. The extremely friendly dogs, Luna and Jessie, completed the stay by accompanying us on walks and swims alongside the beach. Reiko was very helpful from the start of the booking, answering our questions and making us feel welcome right from the start. We were glad we got to meet her the day we left. We were sad to leave Cha Cha, but we look forward to returning in the future, and we strongly feel that a Bunaken visit for us means a visit to Cha Cha by default.

We adored our time in Cocotinos, so much so that when a different part of our North Sulawesi trip fell through, we immediately went to book again at Cocotinos. The food is good and varied (Western, Indonesian, everything is well-made and available), the staff are sweet and polite and thoughtful, the dive shop and crew are solid, and the grounds + garden + pool + beach + rooms are all clean, in perfect shape, and welcoming.
