Our weekend stay at Eco Village in Iriomote was delightful. The beachfront bungalow was clean, comfortable and cozy with stunning views of the ocean. Although we were not able to schedule a tour, we hiked into the jungle to stretch our legs and seek out the elusive Iriomote cat. However by far, the highlight of our stay was the exquisite cooking. We opted for the dinner and breakfast plan and were awed by the chef’s culinary talents. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the free shuttle service from the port and the on-site laundry facilities. I highly recommend Eco Village for your next stay in Iriomote. It is a safe, peaceful refuge where family and friends can gather to enjoy the warm hospitality of the staff and natural beauty of the island. You will be enchanted

The location is perfect. There is a walkway down to the beach. The room have plenty of natural light and are very clean. (Water pressure in the showers is high, which was a plus for me) Easy to get to by the local transit if you are planning to (note the bus only runs four times a day). Its adjacency to the Uehara port meant majority of the tours would pick us up and drop us off from the property itself. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They assisted suggesting restaurants, helping with requests, setting up reservations. They even drop us off at the port at the end of our stay. They had a restaurant at the rest house. The food was fresh, and delicious.

The Ilmare has one of the best views of any of the Iriomote hotels. There are a number of nearby restaurants to choose from. The staff helped us out a couple of times and the transfers to a from the ferry terminal worked well.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet had nice choices. We brought a pineapple back from an outdoor outing one day and staff cut it up for us in an amazing way.

Ishimoto-san was an amazing host. More than just a room - this was a stay with a personal guide to the island. My goals were to relax and explore the island, and I was more than able to do that. Ishimoto-san customized the breakfast to my liking, and really made me feel welcome and relaxed. There aren't many options for dinner on the island and Ishimoto-san proactively ensured I had reservations can could comfortably enjoy.

Everything was fantastic. Even took us to the supermarket by car and back to the Uehara port. The sauna and jacuzzi were also top. Rooms are very modern and very comfortable, especially with the weather on Iriomoete (even if it rains). Also there are only 3 rooms which makes it a very private stay. And: really really large beds. I mean really.
