Villas in Geel

So many good things. 1) The place is sweet, homey, clean, cozy (burning woodfire when we arrived in the cold afternoon)--a historic old building with modern updates/renovation. Lots of room. Two floors. 2) All the best values of this unique place, Geel, are embodied in the beautiful host Sophie. Our meeting conversation with her was one of the highlights of a month of travels for me, maybe the best moment of the trip. Very kind hosting--hospitality in the most real and deep sense. Plus: Sophie's husband Paul is a legendary cyclist (hence the name, Velo --94 is the year he won the Cyclo-Cross World Championship)--so cyclists, check it out!

This house is very modern, open and spacious. Lots of room to move around. It includes a backyard, patio area and parking if you have a car. Beds are comfortable and lots of space to hang clothes in the bedrooms. When the windows are open, there is usually a beautiful breeze that flows through the house. The house is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest grocery store and a yummy local bakery is only 5 minutes away. The local bus is also only a 5 minute walk away. It’s a 15 minute walk from Westerlo football stadium.

Very clean, nice design, many utilities (coffee machine, water boiling machine, hairdryer, washing machine , dishwasher, etc), owners checked in to see if everything was okay

This was a PERFECT place for our family: Mimi, Papa, kids and grandkids! The grands (ages 3 and 4) loved going to "the park," which is what they called the backyard. The backyard had a soccer goal and ball, trikes the kids could use, swings, a slide and a rope climbing challenge. The kids learned as they played. There were more toys inside. The space was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed.
