Villas in Takamatsu

お宿Gａｎ錦町 is a self contained, two-story house accommodating up to five guests. It's a bit of a tardis as it looks fairly small from the outside but is remarkably spacious inside. The ground floor comprised a small living space with TV flowing through to a larger lounge / kitchen that was beautifully equipped, a twin bedroom, bathroom and separate laundry with huge clothes washing machine and dryer which was useful for washing a week's worth of clothes. Upstairs, which we didn't need to use, are two tatami mat rooms, a second twin bedroom and third bedroom which appeared to have a double bed plus a wash basin and loo. The house is located in a residential street which was remarkably quiet seeing that there was a major construction site across the road. But the workmen kept to civilised hours. 100m up the road we had a free car parking space. The location is fantastic. It's a 5 min walk to a very good supermarket, 10 mins to one of the famous, very long, Takamatsu covered shopping arcades, 20 mins to the ferry for the art island Naoshima and 30 mins to Ritsurin Garden. There were masses of restaurants close by. Everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. We found Takamatsu more 'livable' than Kochi or Matsuyama as it was mostly low rise and much easier to drive into.

What a gem! Very tastefully renovated Japanese house. We loved it!!! Very comfortable beds!!!

Very nicely furnished with great views of the river and the trees and a relaxing atmosphere. There were full amenities, especially in the kitchen making it easy to cook our own meals and feel at home, also games for kids which was very welcoming. It feels secluded which makes for a peaceful stay. It was also very spacious and was very comfortable. Communication with the host was very simple and straight forward with clear directions.

The property was extremely clean. The communication was great. The environment was so nice and it was private.
