The staff, amenities, food and service were excellent. It was our first visit and it exceeded our expectations! It would have been helpful to know that there was a hotel shuttle from the train station to the resort. I don’t believe that was mentioned in the information received from our booking.

Wonderful hosts and attentive to your needs. The home and its surroundings are absolutely stunning. We were the only guests for one night as we were hiking up to Narai the following day. The dinner meal course was an unforgettable culinary delight. Our brief stay was one of the best cultural experiences we had in Japan and I can only imagine Takimi Onsen during peak fall season in its magnificent glory.

The location is stunningly beautiful and peacefully quiet. The food is exceptional and the staff were attentive. If you want a real Japanese experience this is the place. I highly recommend.

My second trip in the last year. And I’ll be back again next year. Great helpful staff, wonderful setting. I love all of the book. And especially the care of presenting local food with great expectations of what you are eating. By the way their Macha donuts at their bakery are wonderful. I also took home a few bags of their special granola. Wish I’d brought more. I’ve been to Japan well over 20 times I highly recommend this lodging.

Just a 5-minute walk from the Happo-One Ski Elevators, the completely nonsmoking Hakuba Yamano Hotel offers a hot-spring bath and ski facilities.

Comfortable, well resourced and clean. Excellent service. Fantastic location. Had English Channels and Netflix. Comfortable beds and choice of pillows. Nice and quiet even though right in the middle of Shibu Onsen.
