Accommodations in Villa Mills

All the meals at S Natura Birding and Photography were exceptional. We travelled in Costa Rica for 3 months. These were among the best meals we ate. Food is fresh, house-made, healthy, and delicious. It is also served by friendly and kind staff. Freddie's experience as a bird guide and photographer really frame the experience. He is exceptionally knowledgable, available for guiding and an excellent guide. All the staff were kind, friendly, helpful.

Location was perfect. The food was wonderful and the service incredible.

Great cabins in a perfect serting

Great location and nice mountain view. Wonderful staff, family-run hotel, we were greeted by the lovely and friendly grandmother who gave us good tips about the area and directions to a hike around the property and a hiking trail to waterfalls nearby.

Comfortable cabins and lovely hosts! We stayed warm and toasty on cool nights, and the food at the restaurant is delicious. Highly recommend!

The location is amazing, and it is not very far from the road

The view from the lodge is pretty spectacular, especially after dark when the stars come out. I'm hard pressed to remember anything like it from a sleeping quarter. It feels magical lying in bed and seeing this. There are flowers all around the place and you can have great walks in nature. We were 3 adults and a toddler. The size was perfect for us and you can even enjoy the view from the jacuzzi. The propriators were really friendly and flexible. Highly recommend.

This cabin is a great option in case you want to stay near San Gerardo. Starting by the fact that it's pet friendly so we could bring our girls on this trip. The place is on a quieter road in San Gerardo, next to a hotel in case you want to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. However, we brought food and kitchen has all the facilities to cook or heat your food. It has a coffee maker, fridge and microwave which are basics, but many other things. The beds are super comfy, better than some hotels in the area. Two queens in the upper area. The best thing was the hot water. The shower heats up nicely and quickly. There is also hot water in the kitchen sink and I can't even tell you how important that is to do dishes in such a cold place. The host was super attentive and you can check in with a smart lock, so it's super easy. Ideally communicate with WhatsApp so it's more efficient if you have questions or any issues. We loved our stay an will be back!

Breathtaking, magical, we were in heaven! These rustic cabins are perched on the valley with spectacular views! We got a cabin with a kitchenette so we were able to brew coffee and make eggs in the morning. Through the management, we were able to book an early morning tour to see Quetzales in the wild, so beautiful and exhiliarating! Nelson, the care taker, along with Jairo, were so hospitable. My impression is that there are many high end accomodations in San Gerardo de Dota, so finding this place was truly grace from God. Jairo showed us around the property, which is a HUGE private nature preserve with a gorgeous waterfall... incredible location and magical place! Even if you don't stay there, I would recommend going on a hike on the property guided by Jairo, he will tell you about all the plants and local wildlife. Quetzales even visit the property by Cabin 3! Oh... and we had wifi!

Nice breakfast, well prepared, beautiful view. Very confortable, spectacular views.

It felt very private with the sound of the river and the other properties being quite far. It offers some great trails up the river, the house had some great views by itself, and we were even lucky enough to catch a Quetzal on their lookout point. Best value for the zone imo.

Clean and spacious,surrounded by nature and calm

Very well managed, great breakfast and so helpful with organizing guides. Wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the river, not more than 50 ft away.

Great location could hear the stream below. Restaurant walking distance great trout up the road. Loved sitting in and outside watching the hummingbirds in the bottle brushes outside. Attempted to see the elusive quetzel. Alas only saw a flash of bright green in the park as he flew away.

Casa Buena Vista was what the name states and so much more. Not only were the views fantastic and the setting sublime, the accommodations were top tier. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen and dining room facilities were amazing. The bathroom was modern and had good hot water. There was a nice little fireplace/stove to keep warm on the chilly mountain evenings. As birders, we also enjoyed the numerous birds flitting around the casa. There were figs and flowers to attract them. The view from the front deck of the valley was spectacular.

Fantastic place to watch birds. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The little cabin had everything we needed and the cafe, where we went to have breakfast was teaming with birdlife. I could have spent the whole day. Truly magical place.
