Accommodations in Hida

Everything was great. Comfortable stay. Japanese style dinner and breakfast (Kaiseki) was delicious. Great strong coffee in the morning was also great especially since I'm a coffee drinker. Also many varieties of tea to choose from for those who prefer tea. Great view of the mountains once the dense morning fog lifted. Recommended for those who want to have a real Japanese style experience.

Edo house is located perfectly between the train station and major sites. It's new, very clean and very tastefully arranged. The common space is clean and comfortable , excellent for working on my computer. Kitchen is well equipped with all new appliances and equipment. I stayed in a single room. Immaculate clean, quiet, very comfortable bed. Although showers are on the lower floor (also clean and new) there was a toilet room and sink conveniently placed by the bedrooms. There is a new very nice cafe connected to the guest house on the ground/first floor. There's a food shop right across the street. If I return to Furukawa I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We really loved the property. The train track was right behind us but it only runs once every hour, and we didn't get bothered by it. The property was clean, and stocked with what you need.

The house was very Cozy. I felt like I was at my own house. It was a good location and it was a perfect place to unwind after a busy day. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was peaceful and my family enjoyed their stay! I had a really good night sleep.

This place is incredible! The Lodge is good and comfortable. Attentive staff. the rescued cats are lovely. I was very satisfied to contribute with such a nice charible project.

Absolutely beautiful historic building with incredible views out onto the river and architecture of Hida. Our private bath and room were gorgeous and luxurious. Beds were very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were phenomenal traditional experiences. The staff gifted us both with beautiful chopsticks for our honeymoon. Wonderful location- just steps to the historic streets of Hida and only a short walk from the station. If you are looking for a wonderful blend of the traditional ryokan experience with some modern luxuries thrown in, this is the place.

House, quiet area, coffee, bath, futon

The house was beautiful and beds were comfy, situated on a lone hill in the middle of nowhere. food options were very limited and we had to travel at least 15 minutes to the nearest supermarket. the owner was very responsive, but most communication could be spared if it was written in English in the house rules ( wifi password, garbage disposal, water heater, etc.).
