We were a little concerned because of the latest reviews, but it came out as a pleasant surprise - everything was clean, tidy and well organized. Yeah it's old fashioned, but that gives the whole place rather a stylish charm! We truly felt like in the old days in a good way! They even have a nice terrace with barbecue!

The bedrooms were nice with very comfortable beds and black out curtains, nice TV and storing space. The bathrooms and kitchen looked a bit old (even though the appliances were mostly new) but that didn't affect our experience as guests at all. Overall, great value for money.

less than 10min drive to Trolltunga P1 parking. The view from the room was something gives me awe followed by peace as I look out. I can sit there the entire morning with the breakfast and coffee in hand. There's EV charge point available just <1min walk from my unit, the rate was one time NOK300 back in June 2025 until fully charge or you unplug anytime after payment so count it carefully if your next withdrawal is the time your EV is fully charged. Staff was responsive over the booking engine chat room. Also, the picturesque Odda town is only <15min drive from the Apartment. My stay was more than perfect!

It was a pleasant experience to stay in this hotel as it offers comfortable accommodation and very nice staff!!! The beds are firm, the location is close to the track Trollgunga - what we appreciated much. Space for parking our car for free :D A nice restaurant with a nice dinner and the menu for vegetarians as well :D Rooms are large with wonderful views, juts to provide at least the furniture refurbishment would be fine.

The location is the nearest to the trekking. But there is nothing else in Thyssen, only a small market (no restaurant nor bakery) It is better if you stay in Odda. The apartment offers a shuttle service to P2 with reasonable prices and a very friendly driver. The view is nice.

Beautiful place to stay, the restaurant is wonderful too, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable. The waiter Olaf was very attentive and polite, and added to the whole dining experience. Tyssedal is very close to the start of the Trolltunga track, and has a supermarket just 1 minute walk away. Only suggestion is to update the tv’s to allow for Netflix etc. we would definitely stay again :)

Great to have a room that actually sleeps 4 people. Other hotels promise thins and then give you a 40yo paper thing sofabed. Tyssedal hotel was very comfortable. Food was good for adults and kids. For the money it was decent. Stay here instead of Odda. When we got to Odda it was a dump in comparison.

The hotel is very convenient for trips to Hardangervidda, however, ist ist situated in industrial Tyssedal - we liked it very much, this place ist about industrial revolution in Hardangerfjord and about water poweplant (down to the museum just few steps). Room was bright, bathroom modern, breakfast nice, evening meal in restaurant delicious. Plus the local ciders. Perfect stay after five day hike on Hardangervidda. And the paintings in the restaurant and halls, awesome art!
