Accommodations in Mae Salong

Very comfortable room . Quiet and serene. The pool and patio area are beautiful. The grounds are so beautiful for walking and picture tak8ng . Nice big breakfast in the morning.

I first stayed here 12years ago when D.M.S was full of independent backpackers looking to encounter mountain culture and the various ethnic groups who live around this region. Shin Sane GH was the go to place to stay and one had to arrive before 1 pm in order to secure a room. It’s been renovated and unfortunately Mr Ho, the heart and soul of SS G.H has passed away but his siblings are keeping this gem available to tourists on a budget (shoe string) . The rooms with shared bathrooms in the old wooden house are renovated with comfy bed and pillows. Bath towels and bed linen are 5 star hotel quality crisp and clean. Prices haven’t gone up much but quality definitely improved. Shared bathrooms are spanking new and are clean, spacious and with hot water for shower. The cottages are a great deal; brand new, spacious, clean with en suite bathrooms. If Shin Sane is sold out I stay next door at Little house where prices are reasonable and staff are pleasant and welcoming but Shin Sane remains first choice. For those travelers in a bad mood or are of a delicate disposition please book the cottages. There aren’t many if any, places in Western Europe or anywhere in North America where you get this quality for very reasonable cost. It’s no wonder there were so many longer term guests staying in cottages….

The town is small but very cute. The hotel upgraded us and we had the most incredible view of the town, mountains, and tea plantations. The staff was kind and helpful.

What a view!! That breakfast was awesome! We felt spoiled rotten! We loved it! The staff were so kind and professional. It is lovely! Was in Thailand for 7 weeks and this was one of our favourite stays.

Not only was our stay here wonderful (beautiful view, good shower and bed, quiet, central, delicious breakfast), but the owner went so far above and beyond to help us when we needed transportation down the mountain, giving us a ride in her car herself and even showing us some local sites along the way. That level of kindness and generosity is truly special and it shows throughout the entire property, which is lovingly cared for by wonderful people. The absolute highest of recommendations.
