The chip on our bankcard didn't work so the hosts gave us a tip... and it worked. 😂 loved our room which was upstairs, it was quiet and comfortable. When visiting Gladstone again we will definitely book here. Great value for money.

All ceiling fans and air con vents were full of dust. We cleaned filter for ceiling vent which was so thick with dust, no wonder the system wasn’t working.
After cleaning filter this worked properly, however would have expected this to be in order upon arrival
Although comfortable the place was not homely or cosy ,with signs all over the walls This could have been in a folder.
Wall panel for central cooling was very very difficult to use and very sensitive.
Carpets were very dirty and needed cleaning in particular in lounge room and the lawns were not mowed upon arrival and only got done in the day before departure.

The outlook from hotel ; so much to take in.
The outlook from hotel ; so much to take in. Day night and sunsets ! I find Gladstone fascinating. A mix of industry going on but views not spoiled. We saw many wellfare office fronts. Seems caring.

I did not go into Calliope.
I did not go into Calliope. Went straight to motel just off the highway, arriving after five. The only other feature was a service station with a common driveway. Next morning returned straight to the highway and continued my journey, stopping for breakfast at Gin Gin.

Update.
Update. Paid for two room villa, was refused two room unit and only got a one room. Was told it was booking.coms fault ( which it wasn’t ). Was told I would get $50 refund. Requested this since multiple times and yesterday got hung up on after being told I won’t be getting it. Very aggressive and hostile woman. Avoid at all costs !!!

Close to everything .
The pokes are good lots to choose from.
Walking distance to Coles and other shops.
Petrol station close too.
The views are amazing and watching all the big ships coming in.

Gladstone has clearly had a makeover, the outdoor spaces in the CBD and port area are lovely.
In the CBD everything was clean, the streetscape was well laid out with plenty of sun cover.
People and staff at all places and walking on the streets were friendly and seemed genuinely happy.
The area is made up of the old parts and the much newer areas as seen travelling in from the west side compared to the south side.
There was a good selection of bars, restaurants and cafes.
The waterfront was nice to be around.

What I love most about this area is the largely unobscured...
What I love most about this area is the largely unobscured horizon (compared to the metro suburbs where we are from). Lovely laid-back small town. Walking tracks great for bikes. Nearby Tannum Sands has a beautiful beach.
Our stay was too short (two nights) and next time we intend to indulge in some water sports.
Not a vast selection of dining comparable to other places, but small price to pay for the great feel of the area.

Such a great location to the beach and esplanade walk. Sparkling pool with nearby birds offered a nice relaxing place to swim. Balcony had lovely view and a nice spot to have brekky. Comfortable beds and newly renovated bathroom.

Gladstone has so many beautiful parks walks and water fronts...
Gladstone has so many beautiful parks walks and water fronts to spend your time in. A large variety of restaurants and plenty of shops and things to do. The nightlife also doesn’t disappoint, there are quite a few venues to choose from to go for a dance, an evening meal or to sit for a few drinks with live music.
The locals were all very polite and friendly and helpful, it’s a very family friendly city and we think has a lot to offer.
