People very friendly.
People very friendly. We arrived late Saturday so most of the shops were closed, also closed Sunday. However the supermarkets and pubs were open! The Tourist Hotel had great service, great food and nice atmosphere. Walk along the river and coffee at The Crossroads (which is also the cinema) on Sunday was very peaceful. Coffee and breakfast at Coogle Cafe is also a must, it is also a small garden centre.

It's a beautiful town with plenty to do, and a friendly and progressive vibe. There are several attractions of great scientific interest including cotton farming and the Australian Telescope. Cafes and pubs provide lots of high quality choices.

Worth the short drive and walk to see the amazing Sawn Rocks formation
If time do the drive out to the Aust Telescope - good info centre and interesting the size of the complex -
Grain harvesting was happening so we stopped for 1/2 hour watched the unloading of road trains at the grain handling facility and train loading.
The surrounding farming area was very green and gold and picturesque t this time of the year
