The room was great. Very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed a beautiful meal in their restaurant after arriving and a cooked breakfast in the morning. Will definitely stay here again!

Great location - we were travelling through and were happy for a nice place to stop. Easy walk to supermarket for supplies and close to walk to bridge and jetty, walk to both pubs for drinks and meals and nice to meet the locals and hear a few stories.

I have to say this as I was very pleasantly surprised and very happy when the bed doesnt make me wake up in agony, barely able to breathe its so bad whenever we go away. I dread the few days away with my grandson as I always wake up in agony.... I woke up sooo happy as the bed was perfect 👌 ♥️♥️♥️♥️ id love to know what mattress it is if possible??
Loved the stay, love the facilities. Only a small cabin but had everything we needed ... we did love the pool when it was stinking hot

It's a nice town that comes with a bad reputation but I like it. They have all the popular shops and fast food restaurants, cafes and hotels. There's a playground down on the waterfront and a pontoon for the warmer months.
I visit the prison once a month and the two motels on the Augusta Highway are convenient and in a good location. I prefer to stay at the Augusta Budget motel it's quite and simple. The other motel has more facilities such as a pool.
There's a great taxi company you can use if it's just a short trip it's best to have a car though.
We ate at the OTR because it has Hungry Jacks Wok in a box Krispy Kreme and a mini mart inside bring an OTR. The stateliner bus stop is located at this OTR truck stop as well.

Port Augusta in SA is like Alice Springs where I live in NT, both great places that people like to bash. Port Augusta has long been a crossroads to the north and south of South Australia and has long been a growing hub that has come along in leaps and bounds whilst still dealing with nay sayers. I would recommend Port Augusta as at least an overnight stop but also as a springboard for places like Whyalla, Roxby Downs and Adelaide. I try to stay in different places each time I visit and have experienced a lot of levels in accommodation, each with their own benefits.
