The very welcoming owner suggested we go and see the Quorn sound and light silo show, which is excellent - recommend you take a chair with a back though! The unit we were in had a fully self contained living space with kitchen downstairs, bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Modern, very spacious, very comfy bed. The air conditioning was so efficient at warming the space, we turned it off during the night even though it was very cold weather. Undercover parking at the door is fantastic. Free use of the laundry was also appreciated. The town of Quorn is full of well preserved old buildings and can be easily explored on foot from the motel, which is well situated in one of the main streets, close to the pubs (which do excellent meals) and cafes.

Friendly people. Bakery, cafe and pubs were great. Gin distillery was also worth a visit. Light show on the town's silos showed the history of the area. A great place to stay is the Mill - Flinders Ranges motel.

It is different to the city with all businesses closing around 2-3pm in the afternoon on a Saturday (however the swimming pool opened up at 3pm, so you can bring bathers)! XD It was so quiet walking around, there is a lovely Bush Tucker Trail where you can taste Quandong berries off the bush for free too ^^.

The silo light show is very informative and enlightens you to the amazing history of Quorn and surrounding areas. We ate at the Quandong Cafe and considering the amount of people there the service was very efficient. The train journey to Woolshed Flat was very enjoyable.

Quorn is a typical northern country town in SA, some lovely old buildings, and of course, home of the Pichi Richi Railway. You can appreciate when driving around that this town was once a busy thriving centre, now somewhat quieter. Well worth a visit and a ride on the historic steam powered railway.

A quiet, neat and clean country town.

A quiet, neat and clean country town. Perfect location for exploring the Flinders Ranges. Pichi Richi railway is excellent. Dining out venues in Quorn are limited, but it is only 35 minutes to Port Augusta by car where there are many eating options.

What a wonderful host you are Claringa. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. Your attention to detail and a personal touch was certainly noticed, particularly the fine coffee offered, fresh milk in the fridge with a few eggs from your girls. We were made to feel right at home. Our car could be locked up in the garage. The room was big and at night time very dark. There was a lovely area out back to sit back, relax and admire the garden. Highly recommended, book with Claringa whilst in Quorn.

The room was gorgeous (I had the King) and the sheets were the nicest o have ever come across in any hotel I have ever stayed in! The front of The Mill had a gorgeous, the actual outside of the rooms is a little more 80’s Motel, but very clean, comfortable mattresses and plenty of hot water.

An old hotel, but a basic room suited us. It was well presented and the breakfast room was well stocked. We enjoyed climbing the nearby Devil’s Peak.
