The room was good in size. Had a view of the bay, garden, and pool. They have a restaurant their that was reasonable cost and the food was great. The staff was very polite. Easy check in. This worked out great as it was very close to our tour meeting point.

Great location, walking distance from Greyhound bus stop and a short walk into town. Jacuzzi in the bathroom was a nice surprise! Really loved the balcony area, enjoyed sitting out in the evening. Excellent WiFi, I had a long work call on Zoom and had zero issues. Large TV. Comfy bed with multiple pillows to choose from!!

Shute Harbour is quiet, beautiful and has a terminal for trips to the islands and the reefs. It offers no shops or restaurants but by car either your own or ridesharing, or reasonable bus service, one can get to such facilities with little trouble - only 10 km to Airlie Beach, which is of course much noisier and more of a party place.

It is a great place to stay.

It is a great place to stay. Very pretty, great places to eat. Lovely walks, and fabulous activities to access. No need for a car due to excellent and cheap bus service, plus so many shuttle services. We did the jetski tour, the Segway tour and the Whitehaven snorkel and beach tour. The tour operators are great fun and the tours are very well run. I would highly recommend any of them. The Lagoon (basically the local pool at the beach) is so lovely and free!

It is SO run down, OVER priced and limited options for food which is so overpriced for the quality. Other islands are SO much better and maintained and much cheaper. Pools at Daydream are dated, gardens unmaintained, paths a trip hazzard and beach has sharp coral no sand so difficult to swim. VERY overpriced and pictures are NOTHING like the reality.

It is a great location to access many beautiful beaches and marinas around. It is ideal to have a rental car for travelling. However, it seems there were not many free parking areas around close to the beach/habour.

There is no town at Shute Harbour, only, well, a harbour. This is serviced by a good road and a bus from Airlie Beach, but the location is quite remote. This means it is very peaceful and calm, but you will need to plan ahead for meals and shopping.

I had booked an ocean view room to have a cement balcony blocking majority of the view. The 2 restaurants provided are very average at best, considering you are in the Whitsundays you would usually expect fresh seafood. The food was always overcooked, tasteless and rubbery & OVERPRICED! The lobby store, the only place you could buy essentials like water, feminine products and snacks is only open between 8 am and 3 pm. So if you have a horrible dinner and are still hungry, you are out of luck. We sat by the pool on Saturday for about 3 hours and didn't see one staff member walking around clearing glasses or used towels abandoned by the pool. Sunday afternoon we went to the Salti restaurant to get takeaway pizza (the only edible food on the menu) and had to wait a few minutes for the waitress to finish her conversation with her co-worker before being served. The chef even had to get her attention and tell her there was a line of people waiting to order. The rooms are only cleaned surface level, the shower had mould throughout the grout, the air conditioner is mouldy. The doors to the balcony were hanging on by a thread. The hallway carpets are mouldy and so are the glass windows. This did not feel like a resort and this is not worth the 2.5k spent. The entire trip felt like we were intruding on the workers and bothered them every time they needed to actually work. Daydream Island isn't what it used to be and feels like an abandoned island with a pool.

It was useful to have a Coles store near by, ie within walking distance. The Woolworths precinct was about 3 kms away. too far, for me to carry shopping. There were the usual MacDonalds & KFC nearby. I was happy to attend the Baptist church which shared the premises with other Christian denominations. The bus service to and from Proserpine was punctual and the drivers were prepared to drive passengers to their destinations. I found the local people very friendly & happy to chat as I passed them on my walks.

Airlie Beach itself is a very interesting town with a weird mix of locals, visitors and backpackers. Very busy in town on an evening but also some quieter spots further out if that's not your vibe. Great location to go out and about with s o me wonderful things to see such as Whitehaven Beach was spectacular.

Same 2 restaurants only so the menus, which were good, got boring over 5 nights. Hot breakfast was cold and fatty, pools lovely, staff friendly. Too many children running around without any discipline from parents, all the cushions in the foyer were used to make a fort! Great for families with no boundaries and wanting their children to do their own thing while they sit on their 'phones. Won't be going back!
