A great spot in a beautiful location. The hotel has a great view of the surrounding scenery. We saw so much just sitting at the breakfast bar - including a hummingbird. The beach is pretty much private (apart from macaws!) and stunning. Food was great too as well as the staff. Don’t hesitate to book. Our stay was a great start to our family holiday and one we will always remember.

It was well kept and they have a nice outdoor area for birdwatching, the parking lot is secure, ample and steps away from the rooms. The restaurant has a nice view of the ocean and the breakfast was really good, the staff were very nice and kind.

What an amazing place . It feels like living in a super comfortable tree house and one can watch all sort of birds and monkeys and lizards that come right to the vernadah. The place is spacious and very clean and the hosts very accommodating to your needs . The food is amazing and very filling and healthy . I loved the night tour as well!

It was clean, the staff was friendly, the room was private, and the hammocks on our private porch were so relaxing. Happy hour at the pool was a great way to finish a busy day of hiking. The pool was always fairly quiet because there are not a ton of rooms at the location.

We like the small town feel and sense of local community...
We like the small town feel and sense of local community with close access to actual nature without hundreds of people around. We like that the town is walkable. Don't expect "fine dining." The food is savory local as you might expect in a beach town. In general we have found the locals really take pride in their work, their nature, and are extremely helpful to visitors. Points to remember - no pharmacy, no bank, no ATM - so plan ahead. Also, many of the properties have VERY steep inclines or steps to get to the rooms - so check on this in advance if it's a point of concern.

A really good base for tours heading to Sirena but not a low-budget option.
There are a reasonable number of hotels and bars to choose from for lunch and dinner.
However, the roads are not sealed and very steep, and insect repellent is essential.

I was staying for a week in Sierpe and decided to take a trip to Drake and stay overnight. Sierpe is very clean, but Drake could do with cleaning up litter and also removing the accumulated debris such as old fishing nets and construction materials along the edge of the beach. It's a good place for taking trips into Corcovado Park but otherwise has little to recommend it, apart from the views across the bay.
Drake is small so it's easy to get around. Some people who are less stable on their feet would likely find the hilly, unmade stony streets/roads a little difficult to navigate.
