The property matched the posting very well. We had high expectations and they were met. The host was very accessible and responsive when needed - didn't need to contact much as things went smoothly. It was clean and comfortable. the A/C and Wi-Fi worked very well during out stay. The pool was refreshing due to the shade over the pool.

This is a great value for larger families who don't want to spend a fortune on hotel suites or multiple hotel rooms. There were plenty of beds and having a second bathroom/shower by the pool was helpful. My children loved watching Disney + on the outdoor TV while swimming in the afternoons after spending the day exploring La Fortuna. La Fortuna is a 15-20 minute drive so do keep that in mind. Also be mindful that you must pay in cash (colones or USD). The hostess was helpful, friendly, and prompt to respond.

I recommend, but make sure to lock your car with nothing in it, there are thiefs around. Be ready to run out of water, so come prepared. Plan for the basic for cooking and small fridge, but over all very nice place with beautiful nature all around.

La Fortuna is very touristy with lots of commercial activities ranging from hiking in the rain forrest to a choice of 6-10 theramal baths, as well as your choice of sloth eco tours, rafting, canyoning, tubing, zip lining, horseback riding and more. There are two rain forrest parks including Mistico with its 16 bridges that we enjoyed.
Uber makes getting around easy, as does a rental car. We did both.
The Mistico Bridge Park was an excellent place to see the rain forest----which is why we chose Fortuna. We also enjoyed the thermal baths at Baldi. The kids liked the water slides. We also did the Bogain Sloth tour, and a night hike at our hotel that were enjoyable. The kids did whtie water rafting, while the grandparents opted for a float trip. Both were good.

Me and my family absolutely loved our stay at Cabinas Los Colibrís! It was the perfect place to experience a quieter, more authentic side of Costa Rica while still being conveniently located near all the activities we wanted to do. It truly feels like a hidden gem.
The host was incredibly welcoming, answered all of our questions, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Cabinas Los Colibrís to anyone visiting the area!

Amazing area of jungl and volcanoes in central Costa Rica. Fun small towns with stores and restaurants. Lots of adventures activities if you want them (hiking, biking, rafting, hot springs, cloud forest tours, etc.). Definitely work a couple of days visit if you are coming to Costa Rica!

many of the excersions overlap with Manuel Antonio but we...
many of the excersions overlap with Manuel Antonio but we did Fortuna first which enabeled us to have more beach time at Manuel Antonio.
If you only have time for one week I would go to Manuel Antonio and Quepos (same place), but if you have more time I would start in La Fortuna and then go to Quepos (2-5 days in La Fortuna and 3-6 in Quepos)

Great location for activities - hiking, zip lining, hanging bridges, volcano, thermal baths. La Fortuna town itself is very small, has a handful of good restaurants but not much else to do. Very easy to get around as Ubers in the area are plentiful. Favorite eateries were Traverse (great for meat lovers) and El Chante Verde (worth the 5 minute Uber drive from the center of La Fortuna. Delicious guacamole made fresh at your table and a great selection of vegetarian and meat/seafood dishes)
