Overall a basic yet nice place with everything one needs for a short escape, including the SPA and swimminig pool. This is a sports center and looks like people from all the neighbourhood are attending it/bringing their children, but we had enough personal space and nothing bothered us. We travelled by car and it allowed us to move freely to Santander, buy groceries, do shopping

Lovely clean hotel with all the usual facilities and a fridge in the room. Very easy location to find and the modern exterior stands out at the junction. Some bars, restaurants and shops Very close by and very friendly staff!!

I like the north coast of Spain, less hot and more green...

I like the north coast of Spain, less hot and more green compared to the Mediterranean area. Also a lot more authentic buildings and atmoshpere. Pintxos (tapas de luxe) are exceptionally good. If it is the first time you go the the north coast, visit San Sebastian or Bilbao.

The area wasn't over developed.

The area wasn't over developed. Small beaches and inlets along the coast. Very easy to get to the next town along the road and the main city Santander. It has a boat club and a fish restaurant in the little port. Good views across to Santander.

Maliano was a nice place , the hotel in a good location, sometimes your flight to England schedule at 10pm and when you try to plead with the manager of the hotel to consider you add little money to check-out before your flight time they refuse and inject you out by 10am.

We loved the choice of beaches and the local buses to travel...

We loved the choice of beaches and the local buses to travel around the area. Also the walkways along the coast. There were plenty of reasonably priced restaurants, cafe areas etc. We hope to go back someday.

It's a great City full of amazing beaches, bars, restaurants...

It's a great City full of amazing beaches, bars, restaurants and shopping. I would recommend a weeks holiday by ferry or flight and you wouldn't need a vehicle, Public Transport is very good. La Bodega Riojana is an excellent, authentic Spanish restaurant, which really shouldn't be overlooked. The Mercado del Este is also well worth a visit for it's large variety of Tapas. The twin streets of Calle Hernán Cortes and Calle Daoiz y Velarde and the surrounding areas are also packed with amazing bars/restaurants and nightlife.
