Porticcio is rather touristic, on the west coast of Corsica, but there are nice beaches everywhere for those that want a bit more privacy. There are also great places to watch the sunset from. We've been there quite a few times and we'd love to come back again.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants for every taste and budget.

Corsica is a wonderful change from the rest of the world.
Corsica is a wonderful change from the rest of the world. The island is mostly untouched and heavily wooded and diversified environments. Lots of nature. We toured around for 3 days and it was wonderful to not see freeways, industrial centers, big shopping malls, etc. Best locations are Bonafacio and Sartene on the Ajaccio side.

It was a great place to stay as it was in a quiet location...
It was a great place to stay as it was in a quiet location from where we could admire amazing picturesque views of the mountains. We travelled by motorcycle and chose Afa as our main location as it was within a very short distance of very beautiful mountain routes for our day trips and close to Ajaccio which we visited during the evening.

The apartment was clean, nicely furnished and tastefully decorated.
We appreciated the thoughtful extras, such coffe capsules, tea, sugar and delicious little biscuits and washing machine pods.
The only thing missing was a few complimentary toiletries such shower gel and shampoo. Other than that everything wonderful
We had a great stay, we will definitely come back.

We rented 2 nights on the ground floor.
We rented 2 nights on the ground floor. The windows of the room were facing the alleys of the hotel, and the locks were broken. Hence we could not close the room. The reception did not have any other solution than proposing another room on the 2nd floor with the same problem, or playing around with the shutters to lock the room. Quiet a disappointment.

Porticcio is very touristy, it has a beach yes (but a very urban view), can get crowded. There are other beaches 10-15minutes drive from apartment that should be explored and have nice views.
We visited A Cupulata - turtle mini zoo which was a nice experience just 25 min drive.
The best supermarkets are outside Ajacio, like Carrefour, Eleclerc and Geant Casino, I found the small supermarkets near Porticcio more expensive.

Beautiful beaches, but quite expensive.
Beautiful beaches, but quite expensive. No buses to move around. Be careful with taxis. A ride airport hotel could be 45 eur-80 eur for less than 15 min ride. To move from one hotel to another one in the same area (2 km distance) the ride was 20 eur and ee waited for 1 hour to get the taxi. The driver told us taxis are not interested in short / cheap rides. Restaurants and hotels are expensive

Relaxed atmosphere with good muséums if you are interested in history esp. Napoléon and good shopping.if you are not.
Everything is reachable on foot, you dont need à car and good to arrive by ferry.
