The location - it's close to some shops, restaurants and carrefour express. The apt is much better than the photos suggest. It's large, spacious, comfortable. The owner was attentive and kind; granted me early check in. It's in a local area - where people who go to work every day, live their every day lives have housing. So the reviews about it being dangerous, run down, unsafe, isolated is just coded language to say it's Africans/Black people around that the reviewer ain't comfortable with while visiting the country, which is wild cause y'all know Guadeloupe is Black/Creole, right? Like, stop going to majority African, Black countries with colonial mindset in tact. I preferred the vibe of the area because it's real people who don't cater to tourists, but are kind and generous when you talk to them. I only stayed one night, but I'd come back and stay longer in a heartbeat.

Sylvere keeps a neat and tidy apartment and is a great host. He's very friendly and really goes out of his way to assist you that I've rarely seen at that level in over three decades of travelling. All four thumbs up from Rob&Yo to you, Sylvere, and whenever we'll come back to Guadeloupe we know where we'll be staying! :)

The location was perfect for me.

The location was perfect for me. The apartment was quite comfortable. Access to the apartment was straightforward with hosts' instructions. Curious activity on the street at night but still seemed safe. (Just walk on the other side of the street) Not mobility or knee trouble friendly.

Love the people, Beautiful and helpful native people. I was apprehensive in regard to safety first days, but everything is very safe here. If you here for a friends funeral or a love one has passed. I recommend Pompes Funebres Antillese, ask to speak to Horry one of the best person and funeral home technicians in the island. Vive La Gudeloupe!

The property is central and ideally suited for a stay of a week. We stayed for 2 weeks which was still comfortable. You need a car as public transportation is not available. The property is located close to a main highway and within a few minutes of a major shopping mall. This makes it easy to get food as well as other necessities. It is a good base from which to visit both sides of the island. I recommend this property.

Le Gosier is beautiful full of life and fun.

Le Gosier is beautiful full of life and fun. The beaches around are just right. Everyone loves lile de Gosier. Do take a trip on the little ferry to the island , bring your swimsuit and a towel go to relax or to swim with friend family have fun. I recomend eating pizza, or having lunch or dinner at the Marina Bas Du Fort or just enjoying dinks at the Dutcha and Anse Tabarin on the beach.

Center of town is easily accessible on foot.

Center of town is easily accessible on foot. Delicious fish lunch at Dolmare at the end of the Bergevin boardwalk Tasty glace/sorbet at Fabien YouYoutte Great hike with Fredo at Akwaform Randonees. Solo travellers are welcome. Must do historic and Street Art tours in the tuk tuk with The Factory tour company, 58 Rue Achille Rene-Boisneuf Buses to other towns and cities in Pointe a Pitre easily accessed at Gare Routiere Bergvin. Bus schedule online. Town closes early at 6 p.m. Check out the stalls at the parking lot next to the Gare Routiere. The spices may be cheaper than at the Marche des Epices. Baia Mahault was good for supermarkets, a lovely commercial centre, and plenty of patisseries available. Not to near to any beaches though. You definitely need a car. We went to the zoo, and the botanical gardens in Deshaie, definitely worth a visit. The best beaches are also in and around Deshaie.

The local charm and history of old town.

The local charm and history of old town. The down to earth manners of people and relaxed pace of life whether greeting strangers on the street or the enhanced road safety for pedestrians. Unspoiled and not tourist minded which may not suit everyone. If you like club med, stay away!

Le Gosier is a place that feels lively yet relaxed at the same time. You’ll find beautiful beaches, an authentic local vibe, and everything close by. It’s perfect for unwinding without being far from the city, with great food, friendly people, and stunning sunsets by the sea.
