United StatesThis is truly an oasis in the country. The yard and outdoor setting is amazing. Room for kids to play, big terrace with lounge chairs to relax, and a large beautiful table for eating outside, playing games, or just hanging out. The yard is full of flowering plants to enjoy a huge array of colorful blooms. The interior has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom with a great shower and a clothes washer. Host was waiting for us upon arrival and very helpful. Highly recommend for a retreat from the busy cities.

HungaryIt was super clean,comfortable, and overall had a great vibe. The kitchen was well equipped,and the TV channel selection was top! Even had a bunch of American channels, which I loved. Didn't have to do a welcome walk through with the owner, that is always a plus for me. The apartment has a balcony as well. It's located in a residential area,parking was OK to find (we did get a fine out of our own fault). The rooms have shades so you can make it super dark if you prefer that.

I have travelled to and stayed in Osijek many times.
I have travelled to and stayed in Osijek many times.
Plenty places to eat and have a beer.
Tvrđa old town has plenty of bars and the main square is great for sitting in having a beer or glass of wine. Also has an interesting museum showing exhibits from neolithic times up to modern day.
Travel around town is easy by tram but taxis are not too expensive if you use one of the common taxi apps and book on your phone. Regular bus and train links to Zagreb.

The national park is amazing but the whole area is beautiful...
The national park is amazing but the whole area is beautiful, kinda' old fashioned countryside in the central European region. Eszék is a beaurtiful city that is not that far from Kopács either, worth to visit. It's certainly not a party place though :)

Vukovar is a very laid back, peaceful, and charming little...
Vukovar is a very laid back, peaceful, and charming little city by the Danube river. It has a must-see museum of the ancient culture (ask for Vucedol), then the memorial center of the Homeland War where one can see from the close view the selection of the weaponry as a proud (and sad) memory to war for independence, freedom, and democracy, next part of which is the monumental water tower that is now converted to another memorial of our fight for freedom and independence, not to mention the memorial part of the Vukovar hospital, testifying to the hard time people of Vukovar had gone through, the memorial cemetery.
Vukovar has a charming city center, with a nearby waterfront, and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants serving authentic food, including river fish (as a stew or grilled), that this area is proud of.
And a visitor should not confine his visit just to Vukovar, but stretch his visit to charming nearby sites to the north (Dalj and Erdut, when vineyards, wineries, and authentic restaurants can be enjoyed) and to the southeast (Ilok, with old wine cellars and wine selections).
To the west, one can visit the city of Osijek, the largest city in Slavonia region, as well as Vinkovci, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, as historians and archeologists would like to point out.

Nice small town with great history.
Nice small town with great history. Romantic walks by river Bosut at sunset, dining at Marabu restaurant. And much more to see and visit arround in Slavonija and Baranya county, local food specialties, horse riding, castles, vine roads…

A beautifully landscaped promenade, spacious and well-designed, with clearly marked lanes for both cyclists and pedestrians. It runs along both sides of the river. Peaceful and green, with very friendly local residents. Nice small zoo, perfect location for a short trtip with family with children

Remarkable town.
Remarkable town. Busy, growing, a Mecca for entrepreneurs and established businesses, etc. Being located in an agricultural dominated environment - it offers much more than ones would expect: a folklore festival every year - called "Vinkovacke Jeseni". A must see!
Also, excellent food with local recipes and ingrediencies.
And ... a rich history reaching back to the Roman Empire.

sijek is a beautiful and peaceful city with friendly people, lovely parks, and a relaxing atmosphere. The city center is charming, and the promenade by the Drava River is perfect for walking. It’s a great place to visit if you want to enjoy culture, history, and good food.

Vukovar is a vibrant city with a unique history. The former watertower is a historical site that everyone should see. The Danube promenade is being worked but is already very nice. There are many restored places.

Small town.
Small town. Well located to get to the Croatia / Serbia border early in the morning. Nice square and a pedestrian area with a good number of bars / coffee shops. Not a great deal to entertain you in this area, unless you’re into hiking or bike riding
