It’s quaint right outside of town. We were there in October and drove through a blizzard (literally) and got there a little late so we didn’t see anyone but a cute little sticky with a room key with our name. The shared kitchen had everything needed to cook a nice meal from the grocery store just 1/2 mile away. We had room 4 which had a great picture window where we did see northern lights. Now it is a converted cow shed so not a typical hotel so go with mindset of a unique Iceland experience.

The location was perfect in close to Husavik. The view over the harbor was very nice. It has everything we needed and then some. Good communication before and after arrival. The location is above a supermarket but you really did not notice it. But it was very convenient if you needed anything. The washer/ dryer were great.

Excellent contact with the host. Super easy key collection. and really good localization. Right in the city center. Everywhere is super close. This apartment can be amazing spot for one day trips in North East Iceland. Super comfy double bed. Really clean and cozy apartment. Truly worth recommending.

The Granastadir GH was situated about 3 miles down and good...
The Granastadir GH was situated about 3 miles down and good dirt road, an easy trip in a standard car. It is very peaceful in a wonderful setting at the foot of the hills, with a nearbye waterfall playing softly in the background and a flock of Icelandic horses in the adjacent field.
The GH is an ideal location for visiting all the North Central attractions Iceland has to offer
It takes 20 minutes to drive to Husavik, where there are shops and restaurants to choose from plus fuel.
Aana ( your host) was unobtrusive, but on site if you need any assistance or items.

Húsavík is a great little town.
Húsavík is a great little town. Personally liked this more than Vik. We only stayed the night, and went whale watching in the morning, but I would have loved another day to explore and walk around a bit more.

This location is amazing!
This location is amazing! Nice and calm place not so far from Mývatn, Husavik and Akureyri. The Guesthouse Brekka is great with nice staff and good service. There is main building with the kitchen so it is possible to have a dinner or a nice breakfast there.

Wintery weather and time of year (some things closed/reduced hours). Great whale museum, good dining, wanted to go whale watching, but weather prohibited going out the two days we were there. Enjoyed the affordable, community pool.

Small fishing village, few restaurants, fantastic whale museum.
Opposite is local micro brewery with great beer and the maker, Mr Steni, pleasant time to spend there. Close by is Amazon geothermal spa with infinity pools.
Much cheaper if on budget is local thermal pool. Amazing natural beauties in short driving distance from the village and indeed the whale watching boats for rental.
