The host was amazing!! He went above and beyond in everything he did. Visiting was an incredibly unique experience that I will never forget. Make sure to bring food and a car as it’s a remote area in Japan. Other transportation services like buses and the only train station are too far to walk. Taxis do not service the area.

First of all - the staff were superior. Their patience and kindness are just admireable.
The place itself had everything I needed. Private toilet and shower, refridgerator in the room and a really comfortable bed.

Good value, and they gave us free food which was nice and unexpected. Close to Higashi odate station, and staff were very friendly.

Typical basic Japanese business hotel. Seemed to be mainly business men staying there as was a little far from the station. We drove there from the station and plenty of parking. Also there is a city bus to there. Laundry machines. Breakfast adequate with hot/cold food. Pleasant staff but no English spoken.

Beautiful little room with a bathtub. Everything was clean. I had all the amenities I needed. I loved the public bath on the first floor. The convenience store was very close by. Location was a quiet area. Breakfast was delicious! I enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the lobby as well.

Odate is the birthplace of the famous loyal dog Hachi.
Odate is the birthplace of the famous loyal dog Hachi. There're several tourist attractions connected to Akida dogs/ Hachi. Other than that, there's not so much to see within Odate itself, but I rented a car and was able to explore the surrounding areas by car. I also travelled to Hirosaki by train from Odate station, but as the trains are not very frequent, you need to check the timetable before travel. Overall I really enjoyed by stay here.
