Room was a standalone so was private, clean, aircom/heater worked well, everything you need in the room, small fridge, microwave, fresh towels and flannel then the complimentary toiletries, coffee making things, was perfect for my random overnight stay. Big room as well. Also the girls that attended to the reception whilst being waitresses were awesome, kind and helpful 😌

This property was absolutely stunning inside and outside and I only wish I could have stayed there longer than one night. It was beautifully decorated and modern inside with everything you could ever need and very spacious for 2 people and outside was a lovely covered in patio area with a beautiful water feature in the gorgeous garden.
The host was incredibly helpful and so lovely too

A beautiful city with an amazing coastline - pretty skies with a cozy city centre right nearby. The perfect mix of hustle and bustle! Quite cold in winter in the mornings and night but warms up during the day when the sun is out :)

There’s so much to do very close to the cottage.
There’s so much to do very close to the cottage. Hastings was a great city with lots of charm, Havelock North is a bustling wee place with good cafes, and the coastal villages are on the doorstep and really interesting. We recommend The Figgery Cafe and the Sunday farmers market in Hastings.

We are holiday makers from South Africa and we enjoyed seeing all the Art Deco buildings around Twyford. People we met were extremely helpful and friendly, especially at the Information Centre. There were plenty of places to have snacks or a full meal as we walked down the shopping precinct. We enjoy history, and loved our visit to the Mission Winery. It's certainly worth a visit. Nearby, was a small factory, that made mouth watering, delicious chocolate. We were spoilt for choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Twyford.

Haumoana has everything we needed for our stay.
Haumoana has everything we needed for our stay. Although the beach is not good for swimming the waves pound in and give an ever changing view. There is a good 4 square supi, takeaways, a local pub and a great coffee cart with food snacks. Further along the coast there is a great cafe near the cliffs of Cape Kidnappers. Also several lovely wineries in the area. Cycle hire and horses on the beach also looked like fun.

I had two days in Hastings, much of the time being taken up with meetings. However, I did have a morning walking around the town centre. This gave me an appreciation of a bit of the Art Deco heritage of the buildings, as well as the observation of new buildings recently finished or under construction. Hastings is built on a flat area, so is easy to walk around. and its central business area is about 6 blocks by 6 blocks, so one can abandon the car somewhere and enjoy a lot on foot. There are plenty of other attractions further out, but my visit did not allow time to explore these. I did do some research in the library, a modern building with good resources and most helpful staff.

This is a great place for a quiet, relaxing stay, with access to nearby beach walks and walking trails in the Ta Mata National Park.
Don't come if you want night life or nearby restaurants. You're in the countryside, and the nearest town (Napier) is a bout 15km away..

Perfect for solo / couple.
Perfect for solo / couple. This is such a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Location was excellent. Hosts are so lovely.
Very clean and modern. Lovely fit out. Eclectic mix of touches, for people who like character, this is for you.
There was everything we needed, and more. Great space for two people. Comfy bed. Great shower pressure. Good size fridge freezer and all kitchen equipment you might need to cook a meal.
Love the garden. Super close to the beach, walking tracks, cafe & bike rental.
The bathroom is small - could be an issue for large people.
The old wooden doors take a little bit of a knack to get open.
