Gorgeous place to stay, even more beautiful than the photos. Staff were amazing and really looked after us. Loved walking around the grounds and using the spa and sauna. Delicious meals too.

A lovely town nestled in the hills beside Te Mata Peak.

A lovely town nestled in the hills beside Te Mata Peak. From the walking trails up at the peak the scenery is breathtaking. We found everything we needed food wise from the variety of shops . The New World had healthy meals , fruit trays and a delicious choice for every diet. We visited Birdwood cafe with friends , which is a special place. The teenagers made a beeline for the sweetshop there , which has a huge variety of lollies out of the ordinary. We found the people in Havelock North friendly and helpful and can thoroughly recommend it as a destination to visit.

Everything you need in an easy to navigate location. Easy to access other locations and activities like the Bridge Par Wine Festival. Knowledgeable and friendly locals. Try Marys Restaurant - love the food and knowledgeable staff.

I went here as a friend used to stay there and had mentioned whT a nice town it is . I wish I’d stayed longer . It felt like a place I could settle down if I’d found it years go when I could have emigrated

Excellent range of restaurants, bars and cafes close at hand...

Excellent range of restaurants, bars and cafes close at hand. Visited Craggy Range vineyard for a wine tasting and capped this off with a SUPERB meal at their restaurant. We will certainly be back again soon, and its only a 10 minute drive from Havelock North.

A very good central location for activities and sightseeing...

A very good central location for activities and sightseeing in Hawke’s Bay. Speak to the staff at the I-site as they are very helpful with information on what is happening locally and also in the wider area. Easy access to walkways on Te Mata Peak. Try the local tavern for nice meal in the evening. It’s easy to walk around the whole shopping area with a good variety of stores.

We also visited Birdwoods Gallery.

We also visited Birdwoods Gallery. A cafe and art gallery combined. There was even a fully grown Ostrich and two young Ostrich chicks! And, don't forget the old fashioned Lolly Shop!! Some lovely sculptures in the garden, too. The New World Supermarket has an excellent selection of supplies.
