Staff was extremely kind and friendly -- stayed late to check me in and was ready with a huge smile at breakfast the next morning. The room was very large and extremely affordable. Both the room and the property as a whole had beautiful artwork throughout!

It was so clean and welcoming! Felt like being at home! The bed was huge and felt a little hard, but comfortable. The location was perfect! A few minutes from restaurants and 20 minutes to volcano National park

The property exceeded my expectations it’s much bigger , nicer and better overall. We had such a good stay with good wifi ( except when it rains but that is expected in Rwanda) the host was great and very communicative along with The guard. I would highly recommend this place to scribe looking to stay in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at Fatima Hotel in Musanze, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made me feel instantly at home.
I stayed in a Large Double Room, which was not only spacious but also thoughtfully designed for comfort. The room was impeccably clean, with a cozy bed, elegant decor, and all the modern amenities I needed for a restful night. The atmosphere was peaceful, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape — a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the beauty of Musanze.
What truly set this stay apart, however, was the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was kind, attentive, and eager to ensure I had everything I needed. Whether it was the front desk team, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff, their friendliness and professionalism made my experience feel personal and special.
Fatima Hotel is more than just a place to stay — it's a place where hospitality is deeply felt. I left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already planning my next visit. If you're visiting Musanze, I highly recommend this charming hotel. It’s a rare blend of comfort, service, and local charm that will leave a lasting impression

Agnes was absolutely amazing! She checked us in and walked us to our room and made us feel like we were at home. There was mango juice to greet us In reception and Agnes make sure that Every need with Met. She recommended places of interest in the area, places to eat, including the restaurant facility at the hotel. Agnes was completely genuine as she asked us how our stay was how comfortable are rooms were, and said she looked forward to seeing us again when we departed from the hotel. meeting Agnes and her warm hospitality was one of the highlights of my traveling through Rwanda.

Ruhondo Beach Resort is a wonderful property. The view is fantastic. I had an executive lake view room and could lay in my bed and see the lake. I was a little under the weather during my stay and the staff couldn't have been more helpful bringing me some very nourishing ginger-carrot soup and hot ginger tea throughout the days. A special shout out to the loving care of team member Ivan. I enjoyed the lake boat ride before leaving. A truly magical place nestled under the mountains.

Quite chilly in the evenings so bring your sweater even in the dry season. We also had a healthy rain shower in mid-July (height of the dry season!) so it really can rain there any day of the year. The area around Kinigi borders on the Virungas Park, so there is amazing scenery. There are art galleries, souvenir places and other activities that can be arranged in addition to gorilla trekking. Don't be afraid to take a walk in the neighborhood if you have time...learn a few Kinyarwanda words to be polite and smile and many people will be very welcoming. Gorilla trekking has brought many improvements to the region for schools and clinics, etc., but people are still struggling to make ends meet and life is still hard.

the town was very clean .
the town was very clean .
Unfortunately we were constantly harassed by young people on the street, trying to to get our cellphone numbers and asking for money. This made it very uncomfortable to walk and experience the surroundings. Apparently this is a group of hackers operating in the town

Kinigi is the gateway for gorilla trekking in Rwanda.
Kinigi is the gateway for gorilla trekking in Rwanda. It has many wonderful lodges. It has a museum dedicated to the late Dian Fossey, worth the visit.
There are 2 handicraft markets in that town. The one oppsoite the Dian Fossey museum is a women's cooperation. It is nice to see the ladies weaving the baskets, but the goods are way overpriced, even for so-called tourist rates. Go to the red rock arts centre a few miles down the same road. Prices are 70% cheaper!

We got the big room with fireplace and a balcony with view of the mountains. The room was clean and esthetically designed. the whole cottage has local rawandian decor aesthetics rather than regular corporate style rooms. The owner Hilde and all her staff was just amazing. Food was delicious, stay was warm, cozy and welcoming.
Staff helped us out when our car tyre got punctured. The car, shoes were cleaned throughly after we got them dirty after the muddy drive and trekking. And the food was made to cater to our requirements, like my allergies were easily accomodated by the chef. We felt at home in Kinnigi cottage.
Talking to Hilde was also a delight, we spent a whole morning relaxing, talking to her, taking dance pose photos with her before we moved to our next destination.
Very close to the Gorilla tracking, hardly a drive of 15 mins. just the small internal road drive towards the cottage is bit rough but manageable. So all in all a very nice affordable stay for the VNP area.
