The hotel is stunning. It is very modern, clean and located next to the beach in a prime area. The hotel also have their own sunbeds. Maria and the rest of the team were very friendly and welcoming. The looked after us really well. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice (hot and cold). The greek yoghurt with local honey was fabulous and a must try.

On the sand 1 is located in Palaiochora, just a few steps from Pachia Ammos and 29 miles from Kissamos / Kasteli Port.

Impeccably clean. It’s to their credit that they supply ABEA shampoos and soaps - a Greek product. (A number of Greek hotels use cheap Chinese products.) The couple who own and operate Adamas are very hospitable and accommodating. Hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, shops and beaches.

Our time at Azogire Traditional Houses was incredible & way beyond our expectations! We were planning to stay in Sougia but our hotel there cancelled last minute and this was the closest accommodation we could find with availability. I’m so happy that we stumbled upon Azogires and would love to return to this property. It’s a stunning 40 minute drive through the olive groves and epic mountains down to Sougia, one of our favorite beaches in Crete. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the drive each day. The room itself was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable, and the check-in process was a breeze. The pool was a wonderful addition to our stay, and the location of the property is just unbeatable for a unique and wonderful, relaxing experience as you drive through Crete. There is a fabulous taverna serving delicious local food & perfect coffee right nextdoor, a very cute local arts and craft shop & gallery, and a beautiful uphill hiking trail where you will see horses & sheep & hear their bells ringing. The setting felt magical. It’s convenient to several attractions & popular beaches but feels more tucked away, quiet, private and peaceful since it’s such a small, beautiful village. 10/10 in every way and we would return in a heartbeat!

We recently stayed at Elafonisi Resort by the Kalomirakis Family and had a very positive experience. Giannis Kalomirakis was wonderful to deal with — we were unlucky with the weather and decided to shorten our stay, and he approved it without any objections, which we truly appreciated. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful sea view. Housekeeping did a great job every day by changing the towels, cleaning the floors, and emptying the trash bins. The family’s tavern was also a highlight, serving à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the day, with delicious traditional dishes. We felt very well looked after and would gladly recommend this place to others.

Great location right by the sea, nice little private pool. Walking distance to little grocery store. Loved this peaceful escape by the sea, close to many beautiful beaches! Staff was also very responsive and attentive. Excellent experience. Will be coming back!

The location is absolutely stunning - like something out of a movie. The view is breathtaking, and you can enjoy sunsets right from your doorstep. Agnes and Nick were wonderful hosts, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. When we accidentally locked ourselves out, they responded in under two minutes and quickly got us back in. The apartment itself is spotless, modern, and smells fresh. Everything works perfectly. Daily cleaning is available, and you can choose when you’d like it done, which was super convenient. There’s also a small market just 30 meters away, great for grabbing coffee, snacks, or water. Highly recommend staying here!

Very close to city center and within walking distance, and it had a parking area where we could leave our car. The owner and her parents welcomed us very warmly. They speak German and English. The snacks and drinks they offered were a nice gesture. It’s a newly built apartment, has large rooms, very large balcony and has abundant kitchenware. A market and a bakery are very close by. They gave us suggestions for beaches where we could swim and recommended places to eat. For those who don’t want to stay in crowded cities like Chania or Rethymno, Palaiochora is a very lovely town.
