Everything was perfect and I can only recommend Tsumuya. You get to live in a traditional accommodation in a quiet area. The hosts were also lovely and helped us with everything we needed.

The property location is great if you want to be a bit peaceful and quiet. The setting is very traditional and you can feel the provincial side of Japan while only being 12min on foot from the Honmura port. The place by itself is fantastic if you come as a group, with multiple rooms and also great if you come as a couple for enjoying the serene atmosphere. Finally, the hosts are very kind and most helpful. We strongly recommend for you to stay in Bunkyo if you want a truly scenic experience.

Loved the location - skip and a hop from the station and the ferry (1 min each), easy to find. We enjoyed a late night visit to a fantastic onsen 2 mins away and dinner at the restaurant downstairs and walk around the charming town. This was a perfect transition before heading to Naoshima. Very tastefully designed property, fit 4 very comfortably on a double and 1.5 tatami mat, which was very comfortable to sleep on. The host was responsive. Kids absolutely loved this place!

Simple, beautiful, comfortable, spacious interiors. Great Bathroom, comfy beds, good location and quiet. A hide-away gem to stay at when visiting Naoshima Island.

Having the run of an entire traditional Japanese house was marvelous. The house was kept very clean and had a full kitchen to cook meals (as well as a washer). The inner courtyard was a bonus. The house is located very conveniently to many of the art attractions in Naoshima. Lisa was easy to communicate with and provided lightning fast answers to our questions. Highly recommend!

Everything was absolutely amazing. From the staff to the property They care about you very much They even waited for us at the port after we missed our boat for over an hour. The room was clean, the view is breathtaking And the island is just wow!

The decor makes it feel like another museum. And yet it’s very comfortable. The hosts were super helpful.

Everything was wonderful. It was quiet and clean and spacious. The facilities were exactly as advertised and very comfortable. It was less than a 10 minute walk from the ferry to Naoshima, which ran with frequency. There were plenty of bars and restaurants all within walking distance, plus a drug store. It was very convenient!
